It's been a while since we've gotten any news on how that's going. What we got when it was announced was like a very early, more-conceptual-than-anything-else version.
Here's hoping that the landscape hint word means that there's been solid progress on that front and that we may be getting it somewhat soon (or at least an update).

I do really hope that the landscape hint word means there's been some additional development on the map update as well, even if it's just minor progress. I'll be patiently waiting to see how it turns out, am really excited for that map update to be announced and any other updates related to progress on the map in the meantime.

Considering that the world map revamp's initial goal was for a 2019 release (so by last year's anniversary), I'm hoping they'll release it by this year's anniversary. If they keep delaying the map, they're just going to have to update it again when new lore changes the world lol. (Then again, they're pretty slow with world lore too so...)

while i think the map update is pretty likely, there is a chance it could also pertain to a new venue! its been two years since the release of thunderhead savannah, with only minor additions to other venues since then.

Makes me iffy on it, as someone said before, we already know about the Map Update coming, to hint at it's arrival seems odd.
