Since I don't have a LOT of dragons at any time, I don't need to convert food points that often. Ever since I started my goblin brain said "hoard food points. do it now" so I've never really been in a pinch for food. Just in case, I never let food points of any kind (except insects since i have very few fae) drop lower than 3k. On average I have 3k-4k+ points on hand, and I end up selling/giving away most of my food.

i have 300-400 of insects and meat, and 4k seafood and 3k plants, though i don't exactly... go through food that much. at some point i'd like to convert 10k of each and maintain that for fodder purposes.

I grind for like an hour once a week, and then convert all of that until it runs out. I go back to grind only when I need food or when I can feel the coli luck coursing through my veins and I know I'll get egg. Generally the amount I have on hand at one time is like 800 of each type but 1.2k seafood since redrock is one of my favorite places to grind and all my dergs love seafood. All my WCs are in the den so I keep little meat, I prefer to sell it.

All my food points are only in the low hundreds, it's hard for me to keep track of Swipp stuff so I'm worried about converting something that I actually needed.
I don't really hoard food, just buy enough for a few feeds to my lair, and when I run out I go and get some more to reset the cycle :P
