i kinda dropped from the site in around mid 2018 and completely went inactive during the entirety of 2019, and it seems ive missed... quite a lot lmao
from what i can tell so far:

• i think i was here to see the gaoler be released? but i still feel very disconnected from them and they feel very new. now, what the hell is a banescale and why are they everywhere
• sludge is such a nice gene damn
• pvp is still coming soon?
• i completely missed 2019 NOTN, did they change the drop rates for everything again? the new apparel set seems kinda cool
• OFFICIAL GAME DATABASE NICE
• the amount of new players is terrifying i completely forgot registration windows were once a thing
• i think a lot of droprates got adjusted? i got 2 twilight thorn apparel from a single battle while grinding which is a first

so what im most curious about: what'd i miss? any site events i missed (do big dom battles even happen anymore)? can someone please explain to me the concept of a banescale? what was the april fools event? i recall 2018 being very disappointing and the 2019 i think i saw and also didnt think much of (long live 2017 akiri dragons those were the glory days). does eliminate finally drop in the mire? and of course, any other changes, huge or minor?
edit: also, any new coliseum builds?

Banescales are the second Ancient breed! They were released Dec 9 2019. Work just like Gaolers, only breeding with themselves with their own set of genes. A third breed is in the works but won't be out in time for the anniversary. (A new modern breed is also in the works, but is likely to take even longer.)

You'll want to check out Fiona's Fantastic Familiars over at the Trading Post! She was release late this winter and gives rewards for bonding with certain sets of familiars and random chances to bond with familiars you don't own (up to and including Booleans!)

Check any dragons you put Steampunk or Tuxedo apparel on; they changed the art rather badly and a lot of outfits got messed up.

This is by no means a comprehensive list; among other things there's another half-dozen genes been released since Slime/Sludge.
