My imagination decided to pull a fast one on me last night.
When dream-me checked Flight Rising, there was a new announcement that said the long-awaited modern breed was debuting, called the Gryphon dragons. But, this new breed had some odd features: no breed or gene changes could be used on them, and they were exclusive to unhatched eggs. They naturally hatched from eggs fully gened, but if you wanted a differnt gene or colour combo... too bad! You couldn't change it.
In celebration of the release, there was an exclusive way to get some eggs leading up to the official "Gryphon Hatch-a-thon". You clicked a link in the sidebar and it took you to a page where you could pay 40 gems to get an unhatched Gryphon egg. But the servers glitched the link, and so for most players it took them to a youtube video about PvP in Runescape.
I managed to get two eggs before the link stopped working, and then had to wait three days for the official "Gryphon Hatch-a-thon" to actually see the new breed. I'm pretty sure that players who tried to cheat and hatch their eggs early would get a low-res black horse instead of a dragon.
(Also, the dragon profiles got re-updated and were covered in multi-coloured smears that blocked out almost the entire screen. The entire playerbase was on-board with this and many people were calling for more smears)
I was a mix of relieved and disappointed when I woke up and realised that none of that actually happened. From what I remember, the Gryphon dragons were actually kinda cute--I'll see if I can remember enough to sketch one out or something.
