Okay so i only joined around a few weeks back and i noticed the egg health meter and was curious what it was all about. Thankfully it seems egg rot mechanic is gone but i looked for the pictures of dead nests and... does anyone else find them really haunting?
Its like the weight of what happened hits you immediately, those were potential dragons in those eggs, and its your fault that they died (though this wasn't always the case before it got removed due to long shutdowns)
Which dead nest do you think is the most haunting? For me its light because it looks like they exploded ;-;

Fire and Earth rotten eggs look so sad :(

The Shadow eggs are the ones that really get me. I don't think it's a trypophobia thing since that sort of stuff doesn't normally freak me out, but there's something about them that's just so unnatural.
Anyway, I'm also very glad they ditched this mechanic. One of the reasons I like flight rising so much is that it doesn't punish you for not playing every day, unlike a number of other similar games.

Fire and Earth because they're just... crushed. And that looks really sad. Honestly accurate depiction of me in quarantine tho
Shadow because they just have that feel that makes me go "no." Also Light for the same reason as OP.
Plague because it's become a decomposing pile of mush and that kind of makes me uncomfortable?
Wind because they're just... transparent, black eggshells dripping goo. Like the Shade infected them or something. Yikes.
Water cause they're c r u m b l y and just kind of.. floating???
Arcane because they also look like they exploded, just not as recently.
7/11 flights whose rotted eggs haunt me. Makes sense, I guess.
Here are the images, in case anyone can't find them

i want this mechanic back so much..
tbh the scariest ones to me are plague, shadows, and light!

Shadow bothers me. It's just not right, and I feel like Plague and Shadow eggs turn soft and spongy when they rot, and some kind of insect will feast on it.
Light and Wind look very sad. Light looks like someone directed a mirror and the sun right at them to burn the eggs, while Wind looks like the eggs got carried off and smashed them against something.
Nature just looks like moldy onions.

it sounds so.. scary? imagine you thought the bubbling nest you left your eggs in was safe, then you return to see the acid had rotted the eggs when you thought it would help grow them. talking abt plague eggs

maybe it's cuz i'm in lightning and really like the aesthetic, but something about seeing what was essentially a ball of plasma just completely depleted of power feels really haunting. light egg is a similar vibe.
shadow is haunting for the same reasons. its... not right.
the ice crystals left behind by rotted ice eggs are weird. they give me freaky vibes. no clue why.
