Now of course, it's the staff decision what to do with them, and I'm sure a lot of people will be glad at the chance to get them year-round. But I have to admit I'm a little sad about it... the turkeys were special, a once-a-year opponent whose return was celebrated. Now they're just another coli familiar, with nothing unique about them except their legacy.

I think it's a removal of Thanksgiving and all the questionable historic connotations that come with it.

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense and I do honestly support that, if it is indeed the case... I suppose at this point, I just want to have my cake and eat it too XD. I want the turkeys to be special, with none of the questionable holiday stuff attached

I figure it makes enough sense, you can find dead ones year round, but not living ones?

I had mixed feelings about it when I heard about it, since I figured it was a neat special occasion thing.
However, my mixed feelings weren't strong enough either way for me to really mind that much.
Plus, the explanation that it's to remove the connotation is a good point and really makes a lot of sense.

That said, I wouldn't mind new critters showing up for limited time each year. Doesn't have to be a real world holiday...

I thought they might be "retiring" the turkey's limited-time window to give us a new familiar instead, so I won't be sad if that's the case

ive never encountered them in the coliseum myself, so im kind of indifferent towards the whole thing ^^'
if it is to distance from thanksgiving's historical background, i think that's a good cause .

Oh I hope that's the case, since I'm sad about the turkeys being all year round now too. D:
It's not a big deal since I grind in BW far less than I used to since the inception of Crystal Pools, but I think it's still a bit sad.
