Hello all who see this! So I have a question about genes but it's not like a support question so I figured I would ask it here. That question is essentially this: Are there specific classes of gene rarities? I've looked in the encyclopedia and while it did allude to there being rare gene classes, it didn't list or name them.
The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to breed a very specific Star/Con/Rune for a client but while both parents have starmap and constellation, the mother has the runes and the father has smirch. All of the offspring have had smirch thus far and I need the runes. Are there any tertiary genes that would heighten the chance of the offspring coming out with runes?

MidnightDragon2 while I’m not sure on the exact rarity of every gene, smirch and runes are pretty much opposite sides of the rarity spectrum, meaning the chances for runes in babies are pretty slim. I’d consider getting a glimmer, a stained, or another runes dragon If you want a closer to 50/50 chance

QueenPersephone Yeah I'm thinking gembond since it has a 50% chance. Unfortunately, I have to get the gene scroll instead of another breeder because I already have the ideal parents, just very few funds lol. Kinda why I was messing around with smirch in the first place, actually.
But anyway, thank you!

But aren't Smirch and Runes both limited genes? In that case you already have a 50/50 chance and just bad luck with the offspring. And if you want to change the gene, why not change it to runes instead of gembond especially since the scroll is less expensive?

AryaElaina Okay, good point with the runes. But as for the smirch, Upon looking over the Possible Offspring in the scrying workshop, I see only 1 rune for every 7 smirches which is not good. But yeah I might go ahead and get that rune scroll instead lol

Not sure where you got your numbers from, glimmer x runes/smirch = 98% runes/smirch. Read the guide, it'll help with breeding projects!
