Hey! So I'm kind of a new player here, and I'm looking for clear, comprehensive diagrams and such that display the side-by-side size comparisons of every dragon that has released up to date. If anyone has any that they know of, please comment what it is! Thank you ^^

And if anyone is interested or will find this amusing, here's a summary of my current guesses on how large dragon sizes are (I don't read my dragons in my lairs' sizes a lot, so I don't really know much), I'm probably wrong about everything:
- Guardians or Ridgebacks are the largest
- Tundras are larger than Pearlcatchers
- Bogsneaks are around the same size as Pearlcatchers
- Faes are small

Yeah, I kind of know nothing. Ty a lot if you do link me a guide!

While there are a number of player made ones, here is the only official size chart there is from the FR tumblr. A lot of unnoficial size charts make Imperials out to be the largest, but they are just the longest. While Guardians have more mass, and Ridgebacks stand taller than them.

This site is pretty useful, it allows you to compare individual dragons to each other.

Because you end up with things like this. When the Guardian outweighs that Imperial by over 2kg.

@Reilata ...? Imperials ARE larger than anything else, measurement-wise. It's not the generator, it's canon. If you put in an imperial and a guardian with exactly the same measurements, you get this: So the generator is making them larger because they are literally larger, it's not a quirk of the program.

Necks/tails are often too short. It's good to compare wing size on an individual dragon but I take any comparisons between dragons with a grain of salt.

Nobody wants to tell you why discipline is so important. Discipline is the strongest form of self-love. It is ignoring current pleasures for bigger rewards to come. It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.

Dragons with long tails, bodies, and necks may appear larger than they really are with some of the size comparison tools folks are using. As an example, Imperials are the longest dragons, but not realily the "largest". Their body type is serpentine. Guardians are actually the most massive weight wise, and Ridgebacks have the greatest height. :)
Longer yes. But it makes it seem like the overall are the largest.

@Reilata

Oh, I kinda assumed that the weight thing was just a quirk of different species. If you take a bird that is two feet long, and a dog that is two feet long, the bird weighs a whole lot less. And I can weigh the same as someone who is a foot shorter than I am, just because our bodies are different in shape.

I think it's cool to have a world where dragons can be as massive as they are often presented in folklore or as small as fae folk.

I respect that the generator can be wonky though, especially with the autogenerated placement of the wings.

Edit: would love some canon size charts with imps, it would help with visualization a lot methinks

I take mass into account as it can be thousands of pounds of difference, so that's a whole lot of body mass. The way I see both of them is more as you have an elephant next to a super large snake, and while the snake might stretch longer, I wouldn't say it's overall 'bigger' than the elephant. [s]imperials are just super long snakes with big flappy wings and stubby legs stapled on[/s] I made this comparison once based on Undel's quote up there, and the old official one. [s]And my own musings on Snappers being the weight and length of a pickuptruck.[/s] But a canon one with everyone would be great.

I personally like Lokenosse's size charts to get a scale, since she used the Dragon census data and made some nice custom art

(personally I am also not a fan of the github dragonsizes thing because,,, look at the proportions it gives. It doesn't take proportion into account at all and it makes all imps look... incredibly Chonky and weird in general)

(I draw up my own size chart for my dragons, though. But I suppose it's easier for me since a, I'm decent at art, b, I have the time, and c, I only even have 16 dragons.)
