Thinking about how every single imperial that exists and will ever exist is related to a kickstarter. All of those perfectly colored and impeccably gened Imps you have? They would not exist without someone using an Imp scroll on some random dragon years ago. I wonder how many of the users put a lot of thought into which dragon they breed changed? Or how many just stuck it on the first pretty dragon they found? Did any of those scroll holders have the slightest inkling of the impact their breed change would have? Or of the value such a dragon would hold seven years later?
It really blows my mind.
There are 336 progen Imps (5 of which are exalted)
There are 188 non-progen gen1 Imps (8 of which are exalted)

so what youre saying is that my imp could be theoretically related to a g1 imp

What’s really crazy is that most individual imps along one dragons bloodline will lead to different dragons- even if they’re only a couple gens apart
(Went to the end, pressed back a couple times, followed the other line, and got a different G1 imp)

i think about this sm! i love g1s, but there’s something really fascinating about being able to go back through any dragons lineage and find the dragon and user who first made the choice to breed them. i feel like it helps connect individual players back to the entirety of the player base c:

Hmm a few thoughts:
Actually every imp originating from a backer isnt completely true...some peeps hacked in scrolls years and years ago. That makes for an admittedly small percentage of imps, but still...
Some folks were warned (by other users) not to use the imp scrolls on progens but most people did, Including myself. Mostly because people were eager to play the game and common scrolls (like spiral) were hard to come by because tr was hard to get so of course they used their imp scrolls. Heck, There were people who early on too that sold imp scrolls outright too for currency the first week or so because even tr was rare back when people were figuring out the game.
In addition, dragons were “rare” because not a lot of time had pasted for the first dragons to be born. Some people bought dragons that were 2nd gen or higher and used a scroll because they liked the colors of that dragon more than their progens.
Imperials were also in high demand for a while because of their longer cooldown.
I used a scroll on my custom progen to up hold a deal at the time for gen2 imps/a pretty common dragon I later have come to regret, aw well. I also bought a few scrolls knowing they would grow in valve, I know there were a few people who did the same. But not many people thought of this at the time..
I dont breed my dragons any more. But I wish I could have gotten one of those “hatchling” letters from someone who has a descendant from the time I did breed.

That’s kinda cool
If I were ever bored enough to do a family tree or something for my imps it would be cool to see if any were distantly related
