... from ancient to modern and vice versa.

At least, imo.

I don't know why some people are getting their undies in a twist* over this. I personally would love to see more ancient genes get adapted to modern, and more modern genes get adapted to ancient.

I was under the impression that it wasn't the prim and sec genes that made ancients unique, but that it was the terts. The line breaking terts are what make ancients unique in my eyes, so I really don't see the argument that making ancient genes modern is in anyway undermining that uniqueness, because moderns will never, ever be able to have genes like wraith, gnarlhorns, etc. That will always be the appeal of ancients.

I love this update. I have a couple double g1s with unfortunate terts that have been saved by this blessed update. Thank u staff.

I think the fact that the URL for the image header is "wish granted" fits perfectly.

Now can we have ragged and tear? ;P

Edit: didn't know undies in a twist was an insult in other places in the world, didn't mean anything by it lol. I use it to describe myself often. Putting this here so the entire thread doesn't become centered around this haha. Didn't feel right to edit it out completely tho, so imma just leave this editor's note here ;p

People like myself are entitled to politely express our dissapointment without others like yourself rudely saying things like we have our "undies in a twist". Good for you mate, glad you like the update.

I have had "my undies in a twist" over many past updates and have been very vocal about it! Where I'm from, that's just how we say upset lol. No offense was meant haha.

I like the fact moderns are getting some ancient genes! chevron/arrow and ragged/tear when?

But at the same time, I'm disappointed that ancients don't have access to parallels of all the existing modern genes, the limited selection is quite frustrating and it got pretty stale quite quickly.

I agree, I am really happy with this update as well, and I don't really see the problem with it at all; to my knowledge, the devs never said that the ancient primaries and secondaries would remain exlusive to them, as the tertiaries are the special line-breaking genes, like you already stated. Either way, it gives me hope that some of my favourites (Phantom and Arrow respectively) are gonna be added eventually as well.[emoji=wildclaw love size=2]

I guess it's just a regional thing, didn't know it was that bad of an insult elsewhere haha.

in my eyes, it devalues the ancients. it seems many people felt an ancient having full sets of genes to call its own was a fair trade for loss of apparel. kept it unique and interesting. but when you consider gaos have, in over a year, gotten zero new unique pri/sec pairs but have now lost one of them... its taking their uniqueness away.

especially as its the busiest ancient geneset. one could even argue it was created purely to make up for a lack of busy apparel on the dragon. and yet here it is, ready for people to chuck apparel on top of it. any other ancient geneset i could understand. but not mos/break.

like, consider banescale having no unique pri/secs. it'd make them just seem... lesser. with no other factors to set in, the only thing seperating them from moderns would be that one can have a few feathers, and the other can wear endless combinations of clothing- including feathery apparel.
with more... out-there ancients, i'd be less annoyed in such a scenario, because there would still be another big factor to set them apart from moderns. but with the two (and previewed) ancients we currently have? not gonna cut it.

its fine if you like mos/break on moderns. i personally wouldn't use it, but that i couldn't care less about, as that's purely a matter of opinion. its everything it implies i can't stand.

It's also perfectly fine to be disappointed that staff are adapting genes. People are allowed to have dissenting opinions! Personally, I don't care for the gene as I think it's rather busy and won't work as well with breeds that have apparel. I would have rather the staff made a new ancient gene or transferred an ancient gene to another ancient. I don't particularly dislike the ancient to modern transfer but I don't care for the gene they chose. Something like Phantom or Squiggle would have worked better for modern breeds imo. Using language like that and assuring us that "it's ok to" do things makes the whole thing feel a little patronizing, like people are silly/stupid for having a dissenting opinion. Maybe that's just me!

im very hype about modern breeds getting access to ancient genes!

totally on board with the call me when ragged/tear get announced too, i love the unique accent colors this opens up for more dragons. ive already seen some super cool scries around.

im personally not a huge fan of specifically mosaic/breakup but thats just an imo to the chaotic nature of it like keel.
