I subconsciously do this with Imperial/Guardian/Ridgeback sizes. Mostly I end up surprised that Guardians are similar in size to Imps, even though I know they are.
basically everything about fr's assigned dragon stats/relations/dragon-specific mechanics/ect is canon on an "only if i say so" basis that i decide individually for each dragon. the only major exception is the rough breed sizes in relation to eachother, ironically the one thing that 99% of literally everyone else goes out of their way to change. meanwhile the things that most other people seem to accept as inescapably canon, like offspring lists and the flight of your lair, are the things i consistently ignore.

Yep. Don't have time to take the sizes seriously, they'll be whatever I want.

I've done it, one of my imps is only like 25m in length, but in lore and in my mind he's like a kilometer long, a big long leviathan boi.
Another is a fae, who's the size of a pearlcatcher.

My progens suffer from “little Noc Sundrome” (a glitch where breed-changed nocturnes turn ridiculously teeny). And I cannot in any way imagine the leaders of my lair be smaller than the average Fae. The thought is funny but no pls.

Yeah, I tend to ignore my dragon's element. If a dragon looks like a shadow dragon it will be one, no matter the real element.
