i.e [item=Frostfinder's arctic coat]
it just destroys the intended colours of a dragon imo. this would have been a perfect piece of apparel for my white/moon/silver drags or just snowy drags in general, the frEAKING pee-in-the-snow colour for the neck piece kills my excitement smh. im sure people can find dragons that fit this piece well but DAMN does it make good in killing my good snowdrifter outfits. dont get me wrong it looks nice on some dragons, none of mine of course cause naturally thats how it had to be

yeah, in a lot of cases i feel like they nail the primary color of apparel items and then add accent colors that are great, but don't match any of the dragons i want to dress in those items. this is mostly just a personal gripe, of course, and there are probably more people for whom these items work, so i probably won't yell about it too much, hehe

That's me with the rose thorn apparel! I think the concept is cool and I like how the sets look on a mannequin, but when I'm actually dressing dragons the rose colors never match T-T
Edit: just remembered something, though it's a different issue. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I feel like a lot of apparel covers the same area of the wings? Sometimes the top half will have 3 pieces of apparel over it and the middle part is completely empty! It annoys me so much when that happens T_T

The song of the Oasis Songbird has saved many a thirsty dragon from death by leading them to water.
This is why a lot of people layer apparel. You can probably find a scarf or bandana or something to cover that part. I really stink at making outfits for dragons though, so I completely understand your complaints. For me it's the festival apparel that don't match in color, style or overall placement of other pieces that should be considered from the same set that really kills me... Those can't really be helped with layering.

Oof, yeah. Even though I love the excitement of finding surprisingly matchy accents to genes/apparel/skins that brings the dragon to the next level, the times where I just can't make otherwise really nice pieces work because of those accents is frustrating.
You can sometimes layer things to hide the parts you don't like, but it can get difficult and messy really quick.
I'm not sure if the pants/bags/goggles can be saved but some neck apparel like the Plumed Jabbot or the various scarf items might help cover the neck of the coat with some breeds. (RIP long neck breeds)

I don't use those apparel sets so it doesn't bother me, but it sucks you've only got three options - dragons who are already fluffy at that - in order to avoid the accent colours you don't like. As others have said though, you could try some layering with other scarves and the like
