This is just weird I tried to name one of my dragons after the singer Cher. And it keeps saying it isn’t allowed. Is thee something I missed that it’s a bad word? Seems as bizarre as the uncle thing on Neo.

Are you sure you didn't put space/non-literal character anywhere? Because it's an often thing that there's a random space/non-literal character and it says it's not allowed.

Yeah I tried a couple of times and it said name not allowed. Maybe it was some other weird naming glitch

I just tried it on one of my fodder dragons and it didn't work either. I can't possibly imagine why it's banned. I know that it means expensive or dear in French, but not like that's anything bad. You can name dragons those things in English.

I have no idea why Cher would be a banned name.. even urban dictionary doesn't come up with anything.
It's some serious going out on a limb, but could it be because of Chernobyl? Chernobyl is also banned.
I think you're onto it. Nobyl is also banned, so Cher + Nobyl was probably being used to get around the ban filter, and unless I miss my guess probably around the time the movie came out these names were banned.

Probably cause of the 'Chernobyl' reference as others have mentioned above. It was a horrible disaster, so they probably don't want people making dragons, or breeding pairs with the name halves.

Well I once named a dragon Chernobyl and it was fine. But that already was, I guess, two years ago

Banning a simple word like Cher seems way extreme. Maybe Nobyl because there's not many things using Nobyl but the topic they don't want to people making dragons about but Cher is fine.
