Is it just me or are a ton of old threads getting necroed? I swear I've been seeing necroed pages on the front page recently. Like, a LOT of them.

It's an ongoing issue, mainly because forum search defaults to most relevant rather than most recent and consequently it digs up old stuff. But it doesn't seem like it's been happening more often than usual lately.

To be fair, it didn't happen AS much when I was active in the forums and I don't even read the forums that much anymore.

Basically.
A lot of the threads I've seen brought back are done with a legitimate addition or continuation on the conversation. The only problem with necros is when someone brings back a thread just to say, "This is old." But it also irritates me to no end when someone brings back a thread to put a legitimate reply continuing the conversation and then [i]someone else[/i] comes along to say it's a necro without adding anything themselves.
As far as I know, necros are allowed as long as the conversation is continued. Is that right?

yup. It used to be any necro was bad. But they changed that. You're bound to get relevant but older threads as a website ages.

yup. It used to be any necro was bad. But they changed that. You're bound to get relevant but older threads as a website ages.
