I've been pushing (and spending a lot of money...) this week to try to open up more of my hib den slots while I look forward to Light v Fire in December, and -- I'm down to just 96 left from the items list! (Thinking about the gems list hurts me personally though, haha...)

Got me to wondering, though, how many do other people have? Is it something you push for or do you not really care?

I maxed out my hibden during last year's Night of the Nocturne. It was painful but worth it in my opinion, since I can now store hundreds of hatchlings or levelled fodder.

Good luck finding those items, I remember some of them were quite ridiculous to find.

I've got 184 left and I'm starting to regret even starting it in the first place. The only thing I can see myself using it for is for dragons I want to rehome and I wouldn't have needed so many slots. But now I'm torn between just finishing it for completion sake or just giving up on it.

I found it absolutely worth it. It took a couple weeks and amply paid off during the 4th or 5th dom battle after that (fodder was expensive for a couple of months until everyone filled up their HDens). 5k or less dragons selling for 10k+ untrained or 17k+ trained makes up for a lot of HDen slots.

The last major dom battle (Plague) was offering 25k for each of my trained HDen dragons and I had a couple hundred left to send.

HDen spaces allows me the option to be lazy. Stack up hatchlings and sell when adults or when they are adults and get an exalt bonus.

I have one item unlock slot left to go, and I don't see it being completed anytime soon unless something really desirable that's made with Volcanic Vents stuff gets released.

I’m down to three item slots: Harpy’s Ire (need Mesacliff Harpy), A Change of Seasons (just waiting until the end of this month to get the Autumn Breeze), and Boss Battle (need Deeprealm Hunter). I could probably buy all the stuff I need right now but I’m stubborn.

85 gem slots remaining.

I have all the available slots, and I made it a priority. Not quite so thoroughly as the people who bought gems with real-world money, but I dedicated all the game currency I got to opening up more, until it was maxed.

There can never be too much lair/den space.

I actually really enjoyed the hand-in quests just in and of themselves, regardless of the slots I got from it. The only one I have left to do is a nature egg - I'll hand one in if I get one from coli but I'm not buying one.

Not bought any gems slots though.

I only have 5 left to unlock and they are item slots. I've done all the others, including the gem slots. I'm real close. Unfortunately, like 3 of those 5 are egg slots.
