Since these stairs are quite clearly not built to fit dragons or the known beastclans... why are they there? The only dragon species these stairs MIGHT fit is Wildclaws, and I imagine they could easily make the jump. I blame Guybrush Threepwood, he got a ship and sailed in here somehow, didn't he.
TOPIC | Lets talk about the stairs.

Aye, maybe they just be big stairs. Which brings up anoth'r question matey, how large aire the boats?
The decor of the boat is very suggestive that it is a dragon vessel, not a beastclan one. Which does make Sorrowspark's question of size very valid. If those stairs are big enough for a guardian they're way, way too tall for the smaller dragons.
Stairs seem like a weird thing on a dragon ship in general as all species besides snappers can fly, some better then they can walk. And those stairs don't look like they'd be great for snappers who I don't see as having a very high step, a ramp would probably make more sense for them.

I'd like to assume everything under a snapper could fit, but I don't see snaps (with their dimensions, big feet) would use them? Everyone else (mirrors, pearlcatchers, WCs, Tundras, Skydancers and Fae) would probably be nimble enough to use them or just skip over them.
I feel like a dragon pirate ship would be more lofty, lots of perches, and hollows. Maybe even driven by magic from their own. Something like the Kakamora's boats from Moana...

Now imagine it as a plague or shadow element :3
Look at all that gloop!

It could be dragons, but in the background of the shop and the trading post main menu, there's a rock with a red handprint on it. This suggests that human's or some form of them inhabited Sornieth at some point.
@Moonflower247
The creators confirmed that there isn't and hasn't been humans on Sornieth (the humanoids during the Second Age don't count). Multiple Beastclans have human-like hands though so the handprint was made by one of them
