TOPIC | Imps are HUGE
"Imp" really isn't a fitting nickname for them lol. Seriously they are big even as babies. I used http://emcall.github.io/dragonsizes/ to compare my dergs. My Nocturne character is completely dwarfed by his eventual mate. My other imp is so big you can't see all of her without scrolling down.

A mid size breed would be rather dwarfed by the largest ones(Guardian/Ridgeback/Gaoler/Imperial) but a lot of size comparisons tools can be deceiving when showing Imperials in comparison to everything else.

These charts
are a bit better(but still not exactly prefect) for comparisons.

@Rellata

I've read the thread you linked to about the wrong impression that could be created by just resizing the original art

Can you help me understand how it applies to the tool used here, which is designed along on proportions similar to the chart you linked to but customized to the individual dragon's length & wingspan? I'm not following.

So, I'm absolutely not saying "the imp isn't that long compared to that noct" (imps are Real Long- Nocts are average 5m long, to imp's average of 25m), but with the Dragonsizes Tool, the anatomical proportions of everything that isn't the exact body length and wingspan are what I would personally identify as 'hilariously off-looking'.
Basically, I'm of the opinion that the base art used for the dragonsizes tool... doesn't... necessarily present the actual body proportions/anatomy of the species very well.

Like, in the imp official art, they have a narrow body that seems to be broadest at the shoulders, and their neck is approximately three times the length of their head. Meanwhile, the Tool has the neck being only a little longer than the head and the torso is Chonky, with the hips as the widest part of the body. Again, imps are of the narrow-and-noodly varieties of dragons, and the base of their tail is about the same width as their waist in the official art, and about double the depth of their necks, while the Tool has the base of the tail being thinner than the neck.
The Tool's Noct... doesn't even seem to HAVE a neck (at least in this image)? While the site art has their neck as about the same length as their torso. And it's wings aren't attached to its hind legs they're just... sticking out of the... shoulders?

Just resizing the site art obviously isn't the best way to visualise, since each dragon will have its own individual proportions, even putting aside bodylength/wingspan- things like exact headsize, neck length, chest depth and broadness, etc.) and they're often in contorted positions that make working out lengths hard.
(Lokenosse's size charts are good for an overview of 'smallest vs average vs largest' sizes, with anatomy that's pretty accurate to the proportions presented in the site art but not contorted like the site art is)

(It'd be interesting to see the final lengths of the two dragons, since I think they're the 4-day old noct and the 6-day old imp in happy413's lair and thus have a lot of growing yet to do?)
