Flight Rising Discussion

Hey guys! I'm a bit of a traveler when it comes to flights, and I'm toying with the idea of leaving Light-- I still love the aesthetic and eyes so much, but since joining Light I've become essentially a G1 only lair, so eyes from breeding aren't relevant anymore. The community in the flight honestly seems sort of dead and since I returned to FR, Light dom is... meh. I'm happy to participate in dom, but participating in iffy dominance pushes in a big flight like Light feels like I'm not really helping. --------------- I don't really care about eye color but I do care about map appearance and background appearance, and I care a lot about an active community and dom. Flights that either have a lot of artists or need artists would be great, since I'm one myself. Also, my clan is based in a forest that's always autumn. Light has been the best fit for that mostly, but what other flights might work? Here's a list of where I've been and where I might go! -------------- [emoji=wind rune size=1]Wind- This was my original flight, and I chose it because of the aesthetic. My best friend is in this one, so that's a pro, and I've heard that the community has a lot of artists and is pretty busy- If any Wind clans could tell me what it's like at present that would be great! I was only in it as a noob, so. [emoji=ice rune size=1]Ice- This was the second flight I tried, not a huge fan and probably wouldn't go back here, it was kind of meh. [emoji=arcane rune size=1]Arcane- When I first joined FR I almost picked this, but the pink and purple drove me off. Still love the magic-y stuff, though!! [emoji=water rune size=1]Water- Not loving the aesthetic, probably wouldn't go here but my mind could be changed? [emoji=fire rune size=1]Fire- Same as water [emoji=shadow rune size=1]Shadow- Not really my thing but I do have a friend here so [emoji=plague rune size=1]Plague- Not quite my thing but... October is my favorite month by far, I love spooky things, and red is my favorite color. Also, it'd be kind of funny. iykyk [emoji=nature rune size=1]Nature- Not sure. I have an autumn forest themed clan but nature looks more jungle-y? What do you guys think? [emoji=earth rune size=1]Earth- I'd definitely consider this, the dom seems fun and it might be useful, and I like the small community. But the overall aesthetic is a tad bland for me, and it's not my favorite fest apparel. [emoji=lightning rune size=1]Lightning- I know next to nothing about this flight but they seem cool and I like Stormcatcher's lore and aesthetic.

Anything nature-aesthetic is totally welcome in Nature. Few people really dive into the jungle lore-wise, I feel. (or at least I don't feel that way!). The background for lair etc is the best imo <3 Never gets old, and is wonderfully vibrant.

Dom's starting up again, though I can't say how we compare. It's sweet, though forums are a bit slow-moving. You probably won't find too much traffic there - Discord's super neat though : )

I'm going to check out nature on the wiki because I want to see the background- If I really like it Nature could be a real possibility!

@Isyrii I've always been a Windie, and if you're wondering what Wind is like right now, it's pretty good. We rarely dom outside of when Mistjam happens, but other than that, it's a pretty good flight to be in! About the artist thing, can confirm, as I am an artist myself (Though I don't have an art shop or that sorta thing, I mainly just draw on my spare time and when I'm bored during school). I've never really been in my flight's forums too much, but the community is really great!

And personally, I don't really mind the thing about my flight never really domming, because it makes me pretty excited when I notice that Wind is domming for the week.

Water dom is pretty good! I'm not as active in dom-related stuff anymore, but I've never felt like I wasn't helping during pushes. From what I've seen, the community is very tight-knit and friendly too. definitely agree with you on the aesthetic though...water has so much potential but the site header feels a bit bland to me. at least our exalt pillar is stunning!

Whichever flight you pick though, you have a lot of good options! Good luck choosing :D

As an ex-nature flighter, i second nature. If you want to participate in dom, don't go to earth... can't let them have all the dom money all the time!

@Gabbiani That's good to hear! I definitely might look into wind again and take a trip to my newbie flight choice!!

@Waveswept If all the other things like the nests and banner were as amazing looking as the exalt pillar, I'd choose Water in a heartbeat since I'm a surfer. As it is, I'll take it into consideration! The community sounds fun. :)
