I may be a little slow here but I'm unclear as to the difference between locking an item in the hoard and sending it to the vault? Previously I was sending to vault to avoid accidentally selling but now you can do that by locking, what is the benefit of the vault?

I prefer to lock. When I vault things, I forget about them. Locking things just prevents me from accidentally hoardselling them, but now that you can do *everything* from your hoard, I will never accidentally transmute, auction, or convert locked items.
It's a godsend. I'll probably never use my vault again. I genuinely see no benefit to using the vault now.

I kinda prefer the vault as I'm sure I can find a stupid way to still convert my bat wi- nah, wait, I'm currently selling all I get because I'm already past that time. Fortunately. But misclick in the cauldron? Never happened but I don't trust myself. Also the money option. It also makes the hoard less crowded, I have so many pages of things I haven't tried to get rid of, so the NOTN items and eggs I'm storing for the hibden are better off in my vault than locked. I stare at locked items for so long, I'm sure I'm not gonna keep that habit forever but I'm too fascinated by it to ignore the items XD
Don't get me wrong, I love the update! I just sometimes accidentally clicked sell instead of convert and the wrong part of the screen when I wanted to deposit or withdraw money from the vault.

Definitely going to still use the vault. Hoarded items, clumps of important things, old fest apparel, awakened fams, etc.
Imo the hoard is more for active items and the vault is more for long-term storage. I don't want to have my fest currency mingle in my hoard for a full year before I use it, it's just cleaner and more organized to vault it.
The lock feature, for me, is more for items I'm actively collecting specifically for swipp/den/baldwin. Can't hoardsell or convert but I'm still adding to the pile and will use them shortly once I get enough.
