Yeah this is just gonna be a little vent/rant
If you enjoy this year's RoR and don't want negativity about it, it's not the right thread for you
I didn't expect much from RoR to begin with but this is worse than anticipated when it comes to the aestheric
The new Apparel is... a Nature themed one?
What about that hat and all, at first I thought it was a bug and showed pieces of that bowman apparel set
Yeah there are /very white, very clean, very plastic) bones but that looks more like a detail added to qualify it for a RoR release at all
The skins are... mushrooms
It's all mushrooms!
I see how mushrooms fit Plague and I definetely don't say anything against the quality of the skins or the artists, but the selection is odd- why so many mushrooms? to fill up the slots and not have to add anything that looks more like Plague?
It's also sad that like this, none of the mushroom skins really stand out a lot
Most of them would fit Nature just as well

Plague's aesthetic is going down the drain imo
What's your take on this?
We DID get bones
You just gotta
Dig em out and clean off the moss
Ok thats grave robbing

The entirety of the area around the Wyrmwound is ringed with giant mushrooms, they are definitely a Plague thing. (Especially with the holiday currency being one!) I see them fitting more than the million zombie skins.
As for the apparel, the green is odd surely, but I see it fitting to the scene, which seems like an area in the Boneyard to me.

I saw the submissions and was really excited about most of them. Ones that reminded me of our flight the most. Out of all those, only two actually made it in. I love the new apparel, yes, but the only thing making it plague is the bone harp. Why's it green? We're a red flight, we already have two green flights. None of the skins are red either. It's actually more brown. The skins are absolutely beautiful but the selection indeed feels incredibly odd and out of place. What's happening to us?

I feel like it's just the dark green that bothers me most about that item. As for the skins, I was also disappointed by the sheer amount of mushrooms. There were other very plaguey non-zombie ones that were amazing that could've been chosen.

Not even in plague but I can understand the frustration.
I was really excited to see what the apparel this year would be only to find out it's just... plasticy nature gear?

I am the patron saint of having bad taste (insert joke about heated water towers here)
Yeah gonna clarify I am not saying mushrooms don't belong in Plague, I know they do
It's just the amount of 'shrooms
Cacti clearly belong to Lightning too but if TCC next year had 80% cacti skins and only very few focusing on thunderstorms or robots, then I'd be disappointed as well

I definitely expected red on that apparel item, not green.

I won't say too much about it, but the skin selection does seem a bit... confused? Messy? Like they were really, really trying to break out of the normal pustules and rot mold (which people have definitely asked for, don't get me wrong). So we got 5 mushroom skins, a few other more nontraditional ones, and one or two that resembled more classical approaches.
And then our apparel had all the color layers except for green removed from it in Photoshop, instead of matching the carapace/raven armor from before or something. Making us the third bright green flight, as opposed to the one red one. When will red things that don't also have purple in them return from the war...
