Flight Rising Discussion

Why are you in your flight? Why did you choose it initially? Have you always been there or have you moved around? Do you intend to stay? What keeps you around for now? Do you like the lore, the colors, the setting? The community, the dom? I'm so curious about this.

We have 11 flights and all of them are super awesome and unique and frankly I love every single one.

Of course... my favorite is my own because I'm biased.

I'm in plague for a myriad of reasons. I love the desolate wasteland aesthetic, the decay, the bones, the everything. The blood red and sickly green just really do it for me. I love the holiday and I love the community.

But the most important reason is the lore. And it's very personal to me.

About one year ago, I left an abusive home. Plague's motif of persevering, surviving, and making it through hardships spoke to me. So I left shadow to join it when I realized how much it meant to me. I loved the idea of a flight that was focused on making it through no matter what and coming out stronger. So. What is it for you guys?

I chose my Flight for the eye colors. Red eyes will always look cool, even if they are a bit cliched.

For me it's because Fire encompasses who I am as a person! I'm a creative which lines up with the metalworking (and can extend to different artforms), the Fire Flight is hot headed and passionate about their work, can dare to rebel, I love fire and working with it, and I'm a fire element Leo so the festival landing in August was a really neat treat! I just had to~

its orange and the aesthetic of fire is cool (not the FLIGHT's aesthetic but the idea of fire and such)

I liked Arcane for the space aesthetic and the themes of the pursuit of knowledge and curiosity.

I started in Light and moved to Wind at some point, moving to Arcane at the start of 2019 after I did a massive downsizing/rebranding.

earth for aesthetic because when i first joined i wasn't sure about other stuff. stayed for aesthetic, dom, and eyes! also potato pauldrons

When I joined I joined shadow because I liked the trickster lore.

I switched to plague for a breeding project that required red eyes.

And now I'm in earth for dom.

I chose water and I'm here to stay. Wouldn't ever permanently change flights. Maybe a vacation? Idk time between flight changes seem too long for that for me though. But I chose water since it's my favorite element. I love water, swimming, and my zodiac sign is Cancer, which is a water sign. Plus my favorite color is blue.

I'm in wind because I feel like wind's "feel" matches up the best with my own personality. Sure, I'm a bit "gloomier" than the most conventional type of windy, but I really feel that excitement for adventure, that curiousity about the world around you. It reminds me of my childhood self, mostly, an perhaps my being in wind is just a touch of nostalgia. That, and I go feral for the whole bamboo aesthetic. its so pretty. I love the specific type of green associated with wind, haha. I spent some time in earth for dom but I genuinly couldn't leave wind fully behind, so here we are again! [emoji=spiral tongue size=2]

(Love your username and story, what an awesome reason!) Wind was always the choice for me, I love travelling, the aesthetic, the eye colour, Noodledad etc. I'm even a cartographer irl now so that ended up working out nicely. [emoji=wind rune size=1]
