So I'm sure everyone has noticed that Veilspun look really similar to Imperials and Pearlcatchers, yes? And we can say it's the art style and all, but I thought of a cool lore connection:
We know Shadowbinder and Lightweaver are sisters, yeah? And we know that Lightweaver can't help but try to one-up Shadowbinder (she also does it too, but I feel it's more to amuse herself with how hard Lightweaver tries to be better).
LIGHTWEAVER COPIED THE VEILSPUN.
Not really much of a surpise, right? Except, if you think about her first modern breed, the Imperial.
The reason we have Emperors is because Lightweaver mucked up when copying the Veilspun to make Imperials.
I dunno, I thought it was a kinda cool and dumb theory. I think someone once made a potential lore thing about Pearlcatchers being similar to Imps, but it was more of a mental degradation? I dunno lol.

I've been thinking this too & I feel Light Mom might be too proud to admit the mistake, thus the Imperials are a mistake comment a while back.

The resemblance is uncanny. I'm actually tempted to just have my Veilspuns be Pearlcatcher/Imperial hybrids in my own lore. I mean, the only real unique feature they have is the bug wings. I'm not complaining, though, Imps and PC's are my favs. [emoji=veilspun love size=1]

I can see the similarities between the pearlcatchers- they have a lot of the same body parts
And the imperials are just... l o n g

My tin-foil hat headcannon before Veilspun release was that Lightweaver had used bits of the shadow ancient in the creation of Imperials (since it is said that she used bits of herself and some flesh and bones from other unnamed sources). Would explain the resemblance and why imps form giant zombies (veilspun being incredibly social and needing others of their kind actually supports that funnily enough).
