So I'm gonna make a thread about more specific dragon headcanons. Anyone is welcome to post their own headcanons or even add to the ones I share.
Most of mine are a bit more serious and based around real animals I have worked with. Anyways, here we go:
- Male FR dragons likely have femoral pores just like what real reptiles have.
- Bogsneaks shed their skins and then eat it like how frogs do. This likely grosses out other dragon species.
- Male dragons have a breeding cooldown on FR because they need to assist the mothers in sitting on the eggs and feeding their growing offspring (the males are just as broody as the females too)
- Tundras shed like huskies. Instead of a hair here and a hair there, it sheds in huge balls of fluff that annoy other dragons, but excite local birds as it's easy nest material.
- An Imperial's antlers are not antlers at all. They are really branch-shaped horns. They grow in when they're babies, and they stay. They don't shed them off their heads yearly, and they don't produce velvet.
- Most dragons hiss and make themselves look bigger when threatened. However, Faes are different. They instead stay as still as possible, and will fly away if a threat gets too close.
- All dragon species have a type of courtship dance. The only exception is ancient breeds.
- Ancient breeds have a lot of diversity, even within the same species. This is due to some groups breaking off and living in other places. Due to environmental changes, they soon evolve in order to cope with the environment.
- Veilspuns have long hair as a way to protect their delicate bodies from the rain, as rain can lower their their body temperature.
