You might want to peek at the "search" feature on the left side menu and search for your dragon's colors. People exalt sometimes completely unique color combinations and on a site like this, *that is the only rare thing anymore* or they just exalt seriously rare combos as well.
I know, I know, I know, "don't tell people how to exalt THEIR dragons" I know, I've been on this site 3+ years, I know all the protocol. This is just a suggestion that before you exalt, to take a peek. You might have a really rare dragon on your hands and not realize it. /shrug

To you. To some. Not to everyone. Do you use the search feature? Most people breed some form of double, actually. Not XYZ. So the "chances are quite high" isn't accurate. It is for gen1s... and not everyone on this site is obsessed with those, either.
Point being, double check. I'm not talking fodder. I'm talking to those people who don't play this game min-max. To the average player who just doesn't quite know -- they might have something special and not realize it. Hell, a XXX gen1 has been exalted before. Sometimes, people *don't know*.

Anyone with access to the site can start a breeding project at any time, for no reason, and G1 eggs are being hatched constantly. For instance: I briefly owned the only unexalted Clay/Raspberry/Tarnish dragon on the site. He's G1. Less than a month later, a second G1 hatched with the exact same colors. Then, for almost a year, nothing. At any point another could hatch, either a G1 from an unhatched egg or someone's fodder baby, or a result of a breeding project that has a desired color combination that's either that exact combo or even just something very similar.
Edit: in fact, I just checked: a month ago, another one did hatch, a lovely Banescale that someone kept and seems to be working on lore for.
How are they the only thing left on the site that's rare when they can be recreated on a whim or purely by coincidence?

you need to do some research on how *MANY* dragons have ever lived.
If there are TWO dragons with the same colors out of the hundreds of millions, it's still rare lol
