Trypophobia warning I guess?
for those who don't know:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trypophobia
The new, unique veilspun gene in some looks really good, but there are some color combos that are so close to looking like a set of holes, rather than scales, its a bit unnerving. I only normally have Trypophobia issues with holes on the skin, but I know some people have it far worse than me.
the scales are not perfectly round which helps offset is but I am just a little surprised that this wasn't taken into consideration.
It'll be fairly easy to just avoid the gene for the most part but It might catch some people of guard?
(the fact it unnerves me *almost* makes me want to have a dragon in my lair with it, as I'm all about confronting stuff haha)
its mostly just the color combos where the tops of the scales are darker or contrast drastically than the surrounding color making them look more like holes.
I don't think they should get rid of the gene now its out, I just wanted to make people aware of it I guess?
perhaps it's just me and others don't/won't see it?
examples:
things like this where the top of the scales match the belly scales make it look (to me) like they are holes exposing 'flesh' underneath.
the back half of the hatchling isn't so bad because it looks more like layered scales due to the larger size and consistency?
