So I've been flipping fodder for the Light vs Fire dom battle going on, and making quite a profit! While I've been doing this, I've had a couple users comment on my profile that they were grateful I was buying their fodder. Which should be fine, but I got the vibe that said users were of the belief I would either keep them or train them. Maybe I'm reading too much into things, so I am curious to how others perceive it.

I'm completely fine with a Thank You message for buying more expensive dragons but fodder is ???

What do you think?

sometimes people sell their fodder for a slightly higher price which makes them WAY less likely to get bought

maybe they just hadnt sold in a long time and are happy that they did?

if they're expecting you to keep their fodder dragons, then they shouldn't be selling them at fodder price

I haven't even considered that! I suppose a lot of people were making space for NotN!

OH!!! Now I completely understand why some players do not like getting thank you comments on their page and that's completely valid. You just opened my eyes, thank you.

Tbh, I'm not very comfortable with "Thanks for buying my dragon!" messages regardless of the price I bought it for. Unless it was an arranged deal and we've talked before, of course. It feels a bit... stalker-ish, if I buy something from AH and then suddenly the seller messages me? Would they thank me for buying a gene, a piece of apparel or a stack of den quest mats, too, if they knew it was me who bought them? XD Idk. Don't hate them but definitely not too fond of them and I delete such messages from my page after a while.

I don't mind the thank-you messages... but then, I only really snipe fodder when I'm feeling bored so most of the dergs I buy are keepers anyway and it's nice to know that made someone happy. I can definitely see why it would annoy people buying for profit or exaltation.

That said, in cases like this, sometimes people just aren't aware there's a dom battle going on and/or don't keep track of the fodder floor, so they may not realise their previously-above-the-floor dragons are now fair game for being yeeted or flipped.

Yeah, I do not mind if the dragon was rather pricey, though I buy most of those via CR anyway, but it feels awkward to receive such a message for fodder dragons.

In my early days I even kept a fodder dragon, because the former owner thanked me and I kind of felt obligated to keep him.

Yeah, I’m not a fan if the thank you messages either when I’m flipping fodder. It just feels a bit ehh to me

I added a disclaimer at the top of my profile that states if i buy a dragon off the Ah and it does not immediately get a familiar attached to it then it is going to be resold. Its cuts down loads on things like that and saves me a lot of drama. It also lets people know what's happening with their dragons and gives them a chance to buy it back if they like.

I like the thank you messages usually, but I only ever get them for dragons that were obviously not fodder (like taking in someone's 2 year old dragon they didn't want to exalt, or purchasing a more expensive derg). If I ever got one for buying fodder I would be weirded out.
