I love this site, the community is the nicest I've ever seen and the art on here constantly brings me joy, but I worry about it getting shut down or loosing popularity
Like stuff gets updated a ton nowadays and so many new things have been added but I also see so many thread of people leaving and giving away their stuff or converting it to other site's currencies
It feel like the kind of game where you mostly make your own fun and the reason I stick around is more because I weave stories and art of my dragons and genuinely enjoy interacting with other people on this site (seeing yall loose your minds over coli luck and make wild theories about lore is awesome and hilarious, like where else are you going to find people liking threads for luck XD)
so I don't know if it'll be as popular in the long run
edit: thanks for all the reassurance guys! good point that newbies join pretty often too ^^

I’m sure it’ll stay around for awhile! People quit petsims (and games in general) very often. You don’t see all the new people who join every day. I’m sure the number of people joining outweighs the people leaving. + there’s thousands of people online throughout the day. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Neopets is still up and running despite everything.
I doubt FR is going anywhere any time soon.

It's been here seven years, and is showing no real sign of dying off.
The people who leave are a small, even if obvious, fraction of the player base. I see newbies posting all the time, far more than I see someone posting to say they're leaving.
I really think the site is safe.

Plus, have you seen the huge influx of activity whenever a new ancient rolls around? Even people who don't usually play tend to check back in every so often.
Unless another website as accessible, customizable, and suited for long term play rolls around, FR is going to fill its niche as a pet site for a long, long time. Honestly I can't see it taking a massive turn anytime soon unless, like, 10 years down the road or something, Stormlight decides to make a sequel to it. But even then, people always like the legacy version of websites and don't like starting from scratch, so unless the site/forums shut down people would stay here.

Considering Webkinz from 2005 is still kicking and has launched a new game even, I don't worry about Flight Rising's longevity.
Like Webkinz, FR has managed to retain a playerbase when other petsites failed and that's the most important part.
No players=No game

People always cycle in and out of games. As long as there are players there will be a game.

On other petsites, I see an overwhelming amount of people try to trade for FR goods. FR is definitely the most popular petsite that allows offsite trading.

It's been around for over 7 years at this point and still gets thousands of users online every day. As long as updates keep being released and FR doesn't do anything too stupid we don't see it shutting down.
Seeing a few threads of people saying they're quitting doesn't mean the whole site is dying. Remember that for every user announcing that they're leaving there are a load more happily staying and more still joining.
