oh ye there was long since we had thread on new modern huehe

btw this is nothing salty or to be agressive, I am saying this with sad tired tone or smth haha

but ye. am I the only one who just... fears the release of modern?
I looked thru thread for gene errors and so, and seeing some genes not fixed at all while is been years (tho iri/shim is better to not be touched... personaly, nox on female skydancers is pain for me. I don't even wanna scry them anymore to avoid getting in trap of adding nox), and seeing how many errors veilspun have... not excited.
I know such stuff takes time, but really... sometimes I wish updates could slow down and errors fixed, or at least adressed

esp as... it is modern. so many genes, and oh my... all the apparel. and all I can think is that half will be broken and not even adressed. and half will be new style - which, is understandable that art style grows, but it feels so inconsistent (veil capsule and runes, opal on both veil and gaoler)

idk, I am just concerned. I wanna see this game be the best it can be and I wanna see it be good and grow and all that, but yeah...
also, nope, not leaving this site because of this. I can and I am still enjoying old features and bunch of new ones, but yeah. yeah idk

The art has been lacking in quality since quite a while tbh, I just look at the newest genes, or even apparel like the chitinous armor to find proof for that.
Always hoping the best that any gene mistakes are fixed soon, but the fact that buttercup stitched still breaks Snapper hatchling art, as well as the many many gene flaws still going on since years... It's a bit sad to see.

Ah, yeah... I know they put out a plan for releases and such, but I kind of wish they'd take a few months or even a whole year to just address the errors and corrections thread instead of developing a new breed and such. It would suck because not much would be new other than like maybe apparel and familiars, but I definitely think at this point, everything needs it.

No hate toward the devs or the artists, but I definitely think it's important to fix existing issues before introducing something new that could come with another haul of mistakes and errors. I like that they're revamping core parts of the site, like the Crossroads and dragon profiles, along with updating art such as with Pinkerton, but when will it come to the actual main subject of the site? It's not like a demand for it, but I certainly am stuck wondering when actual dragon-related errors will be fixed.

I'm always excited for new things and a new breed can be exciting too, but I do wish there would be extra time to carefully inspect everything before releasing it on the site. It makes me wonder if they released Veils when they did just to meet the deadline they had set out to match. I would have fully understood them, putting a delay on it just to check over everything, but there might be somethings they skip just to push things out on time.

i'm personally pretty excited for the new breed but the devs don't need to rush themselves. maybe they should shelve the breed (and possibly new big apparel releases) until they fix at least some of the errors....

huh, I was thinking the art had improved a lot over the years. The veilspun genes are a lot prettier, if not in form then at least in color. The thing Im most impressed with is npcs. If the actual breed looked as good as that, Id probably have a lot of guardians and snappers instead of hardly any. I was thinking its such a shame they cant revamp older breeds because of the clothes.

Honestly yeah I agree I’m not really too excited when it comes to new breeds because they all feel rushed. When veilspuns were released there were so many glitches and art breaking things that it was horrendous how these were unnoticed during development like the multi gaze problem. That’s only one example out of the few I wasn’t paying attention if it was fixed or not.

Though I am not trying to beef with the devs nor I’m not upset about veilspuns. The design and concept are great! I just wish that they gave more thought into the ancient and not rush it to a deadline. I really think they should focus on quality over quantity. I know this is strange example but when animal crossing on the switch was going to be released in 2019 they delayed it for 2020 to not to avoid crunch, the harmful but widespread software-industry practice of working extreme amounts of overtime near a project's deadline.

Now I’m saying staff need to not rush things out to appeal to the users. Instead on focusing on adding new breeds/apparel they need to fix some of the more core site stuff. Like bug fixes that need to be tweaked or art updates. I really liked pinkerton’s new artwork that makes him have more personality. I’d like to see crim get new art and galore as well. Lots of stuff need to be updated in the game so that’s stuff that needs to be focused on. If we are going to get new stuff they need to have a lot more thought and process to progress. Be sure to recheck everything I wouldn’t even mind if the new modern or new big update have a delay for the quality.

Honestly I AM kind of excited, but at the same time, yeah I have concerns about the quality, I think they really should take extra time to make sure everything is in order (and maybe try to fix some older issues,, buttercup stitched still being completely broken on baby snappers is a little shocking), since we just got the veils too

It’s been a rough year and honestly a good chunk of the ‘errors’ are relatively minor or not even errors to begin with (like multigaze, that’s just how the eye system works, it is not a bug).... so I’m not super concerned about errors. Or perhaps I’m just not seeing them idk... But I do understand the sentiment. I do hope they’ve been taking their time, perhaps more than they initially planned, because of everything else that’s been going on and not rushing because they feel they fell behind or anything.

Quality over quantity as they say.
I think devs should prioritize things bit more to get things working and look well... nice and smooth. I wouldn´t mind delaying other things if it means older stuff are fixed and whatnot.
