A-are we the baddies? ;_;

Many people feel sorry for them. To answer your question, no, our ancestors were the baddies.

@Natron That's pretty good, and makes sense

It's also odd to me to have humanoid familiars since they're sentient lmao

Who knew funny dragon game could get deep?

@maplemoon the correct word is sapient! Almost all animal life (on Earth for example) is sentient, it is only hard to determine whether sponges, coral and anemones are also sentient. However, there are numerous species, genera, families and even orders of non-human animals who are also sapient, such as elephants, cetaceans, corvids, psittacines, rats, raccoons and cephalopods. Humanoid does not determine sentience, the ability to think, make choices and being conscious does, and each animal is capable of that. Hope that clears it up a bit!

Also, you don't have to treat them as 'familiars' if you don't like that! You can freely treat them as companions, as Staff has pointed out, the term "familiar" has a different meaning than your general 'magical' term.

Edit: OH YEAH, also: plants are also very likely to have a form of sentience as well. That is still being thoroughly researched on but still, the current data goes in favour of plants being sentient. They are capable of storing information due to having small networks virtually similar to processing centres of animals

Ah, right. Forgot that word. I meant more as in they're clearly to the levels of humanity in sapience which would make it very odd to have them as ... "familiars" in that sense if both dragons and Beastclans alike were sapient.

not really, since i just think of dragons as mostly vicious intelligent monsters.
conquering the land and spreading terror and taking what they want unless things are strong enough to hunt them back.
even 'good' ones would still be likely to eat you.

is very likely to take your posts literally - has difficulty discerning if tone is joking
