TOPIC | Thinking of becoming a fodder seller

Random thought: what if I bred uglies constantly and sell them for low prices, what may help me to earn moneh to expand my lair or buy apparel? [emoji=spiral confused size=2] Any fodder sellers here? Any tips? Anyone have experience with that?

I don't typically sell my fodder, as my fodder pairs are specifically fodder for me, but I think it can be pretty profitable! Most people prefer to buy adult fodder (at least I prefer to), so that might be your best bet, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't sell hatchling fodder either

It could be profitable! But hatching fodder and exalting them yourself can also be just as profitable, depends on your coliseum team

Unleveled fodder is faster, but not as profitable in the long run. Wait until the 'age up' as you can only hatch nests so fast anyway. You can also buy cheap babies off the ah, stash them in your hibernal din until the mature (that way they don't consume any food) then take them out and resell them for adult fodder prices. The difference is only a few gems, but you can make a profit for very little work if you're patient.

:D If you don't have time to train them in the coli it's a great way to make money with very little effort involved.
Fill up your lair and hibernal den with hatchlings then sell them when they're adults too for extra money.

Also breed pretties just in case you get a primal.

Selling fodder is pretty much my major source of income! Unless I have a bit of lair space crunch going on (ie currently er whoops), I usually have all my nests going at all times. While there are other ways to make more of that sweet dragon cash on FR, fodder breeding I find is great for more low-key casual profit making (ie I haven't found it a particularly quick way to make bank but it's good background income). I do sell mostly hatchling fodder as for me the lair space isn't worth keeping them around to grow up when I can crank out more hatchlings in the time it's taken for those dragons to reach adulthood.

The only problem is my fodder pairs keep throwing me special eyes instead of my proper project dragons.

Do you have plenty of lair space? Is food a problem for you? How many nests do you have unlocked?

I constantly have 4 nests breeding fodder. When they all hatch, I put up the babies for 15 gems. I usually have 1-2 sell at that price per week, usually for breeding projects. (Because I choose parents pretty much at random, I often have rare combos.)

After 7 days, I might give a particularly pretty dragon another 7 days, but usually I yeet them straight into the Den. Whenever I need money, I pull a dozen fodder out of the Den and sell. For big dom battles I clear out most of my den and make big bucks.

This is all extremely low effort. It doesn't get you as much income as exalting or G&G, but I don't have the attention span for that.

Fodder selling is a maybe boring but very steady way to make money. Personally, I constantly breed, and while some of my pairs have babies I try to sell normally, everything not sold after a while becomes fodder. Having pairs specifically for fodder breeding streamlines that even further. If I want to exalt some myself, or am unsure about selling immediately (due to a festival or dom fight coming up for instance), I also put them in the Hibernal Den and bring them out when needed later.

All in all, it's really easy stuff, not exciting but very reliable, which is what I like.

I second the not exciting but reliable! I breed my fodder/project pairs constantly, and while I try to level them up myself, if I'm unable to for whatever reason or need lairspace faster than I can Coli, I sell them and they are gone with me having to do nothing, it's pretty sweet. Highly recommended for a steady dragony cashflow, simple enough that anyone can do it, and the most stable dragon market out there. [emoji=ridgeback happy size=1] I would advise you to keep an eye on the lowest fodder prices, though, or on Dom Watch, because prices sometimes shoot up when you least expect it, otherwise.

@EdmoUniverse
Buy fodder with no breeding cooldown, breed them then either sell the hatchlings+dragons or train them yourselves to exalt/sell, then buy a new pair off the AH. :)
