I'm curious; how do you all stand it? I love ridgebacks so much that I'm fine looking at them all the time, but sometimes I wish I could have some more variety. I think I made the switch more for organizational reasons than lore reasons.
So, what kind of dragons do you have in your lair? Do you like having a mono breed/gender lair? Do you not have one but want one? I'm really excited to see other people's responses!

I used to think about becoming a mono-lair, but I decided against it. There are too many pieces of apparel that I think just look bad on each species. I'd never get a different look on every dragon unless my lair was also just really small (without just using the recolors of the same pieces over and over). I'd probably last a total of 20-40 dragons with nice non-repeating outfits and that's pushing it.
But that's probably more a function of my being not-very-creative with outfits.

Because I like Imperial dragons. My lair/den is the way it is and I'm happy with it.

I'm not a monolair yet but I'm working toward it and trying to find/breed replacements for my scarce few male dragons, and I've set myself a goal of only three dragons that are male in terms of both game assigned gender and their lore (excluding for breeding pairs, which do not formally exist), which I've already found. I think if you want variety, you could do something similar, and have a small amount of dragons that don't fit your mono.
Since I'm going for a gender monolair and not a breed monolair, I get my variety that way, and I decided on it because 1) I like the female poses better on the vast majority of breeds (the only ones i don't are spiral and banescale) 2) I like writing lore but I just don't like writing about guys a lot of the time and 3) I already had mostly female dragons and decided to go all in :P
I don't like variety - I like unity, so being a monolair came naturally.

I'm working on becoming a mono-fandom lair (Currently mono-fandragon) so i'm not sure if it counts. I like it because it gives me a very clear goal to work towards and helps with organisation; at-least 5 dragons for each part (8 parts total), 2 of those must be G1's and at least 1 must be a G1 WC.
I do have other rules for myself as well but I plan to properly re-structure my lair once I get all the G1's I need just so it looks right (I'm just picky about having 5 dragons per row.) Then i'll also be able to purge more dragons that don't fit my criteria and sell more spare apparel to fund my project

^ Same for me. I have wildclaws, with just a couple ancients for lore purposes that I keep a tight limit on (four vs dozens of WCs). I like consistency.

I have a G1 monolair, and zero desire for bred-for dragons whatsoever!
I like to have at least one of each pose of each breed, including hatchlings. My collection feels more complete the more diverse it is. :D The only breed I can't have is Imperials, which always elevates my saline levels whenever I think about it. XD
Some of y'all are just wired differently, and I can respect that. If I tried to be a monolair I'd give up within a month because 'hehe dragon go brrr' but here you are, having a monolair.
