I don't know if this is just me, but I left FL for a really long time (almost a year I think? over a year?) and now I'm checking it again after all that time

I don't know if this is actually a thing or not but it feels like there's way less dragons in the auction house for sale now?? I swear there used to be so many more than there is and I don't know if the site has just become less popular or what

Am I wrong? I haven't been here in so long it's hard to tell

I feel like that for sure can't be right, but there WAS a huge dom battle before NotN so maybe it got a whole good chunk taken out then that's just.... only being filled up now with all them G1 Nocs.
And Ice is Fest pushing too so yknow.

im not so much active on fr anymore, and certainly not enough to have remembered the average amount.
it can have a lot of reasons. the dom battle and pushing might affect that, like recall said

maybe you're on the flight-specific AH? they're always a ghost town, realm wide is poppin tho

I kinda want to agree with you. I remember a few years ago the AH was insanity. Now if I’m looking for male spirals with fire eyes there’s "only" 16 pages of them. Idk, I feel like there used to be a whole lot more before.

It doesn't really feel like less to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if the over-saturated dragon market led to a decline in people people breeding AH fodder.

There are not fewer dragons in the AH. There is the [i]illusion[/i] of fewer dragons on the AH. [/quote] Four years ago there were likely about the same percentage of male spirals with fire eyes in the AH (mayber fewer, actually, because of a smaller site population). Of course, you could search by element back then, so this doesn't add much to my theory. Let's change the example- Four years ago, you wanted a male spiral with fire eyes in the brown primary range and orange secondary range. You search by gender, element, and breed, but go one-by-one for the colors. Instead of seeing "only" 16 pages of dragons at once, you probably filter through 400, most of which are dragons that you glance over without a thought because it isn't actually what you're looking for. In addition to this, there's also some Gestalt principles of psychology going on here. Basically, the brain likes to perceive mass quantities in smaller and like groups. It's easier for the brain to estimate numbers this way and can make a large group seem much smaller. Because we can now sort to our hearts' delight, we might look at 400 dragons but only perceive it as a few dozen because we only saw 16 at a time. Thank you for attending my lecture.

It’s also possible that people have moved onto breeding different things than they used to so it feels like there’s less of what you’re searching for.
