So,,, how do you guys think staff are going to pull off a creating a shadow fish for the Shadow Fest fam? I'm a bit nervous to be honest, but I'm thinking it might look kinda like a mix between [item=Tar-Trooper Slarg] and [item=Driftwood Gem Guardian] , or a goopy version of [item=Wandering Aquarius]
Overall I can't wait for the fest, and I'm really hoping I like the scene as about half of my lair is purple xD

While this creation has an impressive stench, it is no more capable of surviving hot tar than other animals. It gets its name from the thick black mucus it produces.

Im super excited, there are so many "fish" they could choose from and I cant wait to see how they portray them!
Oarfish are massive and (were presumably) often mistaken for dragons and are very rarely seen. Coelacanth were thought to have been extinct and were a cryptid for a long time. Sharks are considered fish, so we could see basking sharks or frilled sharks maybe. Manta and sting rays are also considered fish, and a lot of huge river fish are terrifying.
And while cuttlefish aren't fish, but mollusks, they do mimic other species and have wicked camoflauge.
Theres a lot to work with with the category fish, and I just hope its not a generic fish when there's so many cool species that exist that could be inspired from.

Oh man, now that they're mentioned I REALLY hope it's either an anglerfish or a coelacanth. Those would be really neat with a shadow aesthetic

I got really confused there for a second then I realized this month is Pisces. Lol
I’m not super sure... I’m sure it’d be neat either way. All fish are cool. Though I hope it’s not related to the ‘goldfish’ update hint we hadn’t gotten yet, it’d feel silly that they’d waste a hint like that on a fest fam. I’d expect bigger.
