TOPIC | Do likes add to a dragon's value?

Let's say you have an average dragon. Its not gen1 (maybe gen 7 or something), the colours are nothing special, it is born on a mundane date and no one is posting about their birthday or if they are their desires don't even fall in line with this dragon. It has a unremarkable ID and unremarkable lineage. However, what it does have is plenty of likes. Now how would likes influence price on say a 100 like dragon? A 200? A 500? 1K? Anything above 1K likes?
Or perhaps do likes do nothing for the price (which would be interesting imo).
Do people even seek out dragons with lots of likes and why?

Also, if you had a dragon with 500 likes would you sell it and for how much?

i mean, i'm sure you can find a market for it but it probably wouldn't be easy.

Nah.

Unless a buyer is looking specifically for a dragon with Likes, you're probably not going to get many willing to pay extra for it.

It's also a pretty risky thing to try to put value on, considering that Likes are impermanent.

Likes can very much depend on how the dragon is dressed , the scene, skin/accent and familiar. What makes the dragon look good isnt necessarily the genes/colours.

That being said, I have not gened a dragon because it got likes with the way it looks now, so it's worth something to me!

I have likes hidden, so it wouldn't influence my decision on whether to buy a dragon or not—although I have it hidden because I know I'll put too much stock in it, and will be sad/unsatisfied with any of my dragons having a low number of likes; so maybe if someone specifically said how many likes the dragon they were selling had, I might actually consider buying it.

My avatar currently has 152 likes, and I personally could see myself potentially selling her one day when the glitch is fixed. I'd probably just do an auction or something, since it's probably a pretty niche thing and hard to price.

I've done some experimentation to see if likes add to the exalt payout. Based on my tiny sample size, I'm gonna say no. But if anyone wants to help me experiment, go like every dragon in my "Tideling barracks" that is named "Tideling" and I'll see if their payout increases. :)

It adds to their value in my heart.

That being said, possibly? It would take a large amount of likes to make an impact, but I imagine there is a market for it.

I don't think so, at least to me. I don't buy dragons because they have a certain amount of likes but rather because they have the colors, element, and/or breed that I'm looking for.

Take into consideration the threads in Dragon share where you post a dragon and ask for likes to reach a certain number, give a like get a like, or even just share dragons in threads that are giving them away. With this in mind, likes don't really seem to hold much value unless you think it does. Which isn't a whole lot of people.

Nah, tbh likes on a dragon really aren't important & I don't think they should be. it's cool when people like dragons, but adding value to a high liked dragon outside of just fun I feel is kinda weird.
