thank you everyone for the feedback, i am now making preparations to open this server properly. i am hoping to have it open somewhat close to the map update, though i'm currently unsure if it will be the day of. <3

however! as i currently have no one helping me out with this, the first couple of weeks may be a little rough. if you wish to help me out in some way (providing lore prompts, for example), feel free to send me a message.

genuinely have no idea where something like this is supposed to go tbh

i've been working on a little project recently, a new discord server dedicated to the discussion & sharing of flight rising lore with the end goal being to make it into place where anyone, of any skill level, can freely share their own writing.

the server is lgbtq+ friendly, and keeping the community safe is one of my highest concerns rn.

it currently contains, alongside a few 'general' channels that practically every fr server has - general, art share, sales, etc. -

• lore prompts - either actual writing prompts or simple questions that are changed weekly to monthly. currently undecided timeframe; may allow community to share prompts
• a lore share channel, for when you only really want to Yell about your favorite lizards or share some hcs
• a lore discussion channel, for more in-depth chatter about your lore
• a place for completed works, such as bios or stories
• a channel to share links to lore directories
• one dedicated to creating lore alliances / connections
• and another solely to share neat resources for building bios, or just giving inspiration.
• finally, there is a brainstorming channel for the purpose of bouncing ideas around - this could potentially be merged with another channel, but its there for now.

its certainly starting to look somewhat complete, but, i've hit a small roadblock, as i am unfortunately One Person and i can't know what exactly other people are looking for with such a thing without feedback

so, the question i have for yall is

if you were to consider joining a server for this purpose, what would you like to see the most?

optionally, are there any improvements you think could be made to the existing channels based on what i've said here? should any be merged, or dropped entirely?

I personally would like to see a channel for connecting lore to other fan things (like Arenji or the Lorebreaker), just to show some more options

I would definitely join it as it is! It seems very interesting, and like a good place to build lore! However, I will say that it's probably unlikely to grow as big as some other FR servers, just because of how many people are into lore so much to join a server for it ^^;

I think maybe a channel for advertising lore subspecies would be interesting? Other than that, I can't think of anything you could add! This idea seems very thought-out and entertaining, and I'd love an invite when you server is open to the public! <3

I would join it! I quite like the current idea so far :)

i have no expectations of this being something massive by any means! its simply something i wanted to do since i couldn't find anything similar that seemed active :>

Please ping me for the opening I have been looking for this. Even as is I would join.

Maybe a fr cannon board section with like beastclan, exalting, genes, flights, deity and other boards so mechanic based cannon can be posted by group. This way If a player want to cannon a specific mechanic in the site they can use someone else's or get inspired for there own.

I don't care, this sounds hype already. Ping me when it's opened because I'm hopping right in.

Please, ping we when this gets finished. Maybe a roleplay channel or two would be nice? I always like roleplay channels, and it could help developing lore.

The thing I would be looking for most from a lore server would be a prompts channel (specifically for lorebuilding questions) which it looks like you have covered! There used to be "Worldbuilding Wednesday" on FR Tumblr back in ~2015, everyone would pass around lorebuilding questions and it was a big thing but now I never see it anymore. Maybe WW could be revived on the Discord in some way, either as the day prompts get updated or some other special event to encourage people to write?

Maybe something to also consider about the prompts is posting two at once as Easy Mode and Hard Mode, to help make it work for both people who are just starting out their lore AND people with well-developed lore already who are looking for more advanced questions than just "who takes care of the familiars?" and "does your clan have a leader or council?". A problem I have sometimes with lore questions is that they're pretty basic and don't really help or interest me because I already have a lot of lore and am looking for less obvious details I might've overlooked.

I'm definitely interested in joining when you get the server ready, at least to lurk! I've been disappointed in the lack of lorebuilding and WW on FR Tumblr these days, and considered setting up a sideblog to post lore prompts myself, but... meh.
