you thought this was gonna be a well-versed headcannon exploration into what fancy smancy technology that lightning might have developed. no.

as someone planning to move there when my flight cooldown is up, i'm here to ask the REAL questions-

do you think lightning's more developed clans/cities have made fast food chains yet?? like, traditional hunting or whatever would take up too much time, so most dragons would theoretically pack lunch. but what if some dragons cant afford to bring their lunches, either because it takes too long and they work around the clock or they're just too tired at the end of the day to do so?? what if someone somewhere decided "hey, what if OTHER dragons made the food really fast so dragons without lunches could just pay to eat and immediately start working again? and then we made it a kind of business???" and BOOM. a multi billion dollar corporation dedicated to serving YOU, the VALUED CUSTOMER, an EDIBLE, "NUTRIENT-DENSE" LUNCH so you can IMMEDIATELY CLOCK BACK IN and GET BACK TO WORK.

They more or less had fast food in Rome, if I recall correctly- so yeah, they probably have a McStormy's every couple clans or so.

I like your idea! I mean,it makes sense and it's efficient, I can't think of a better flight to implement such a thing!

I have a non-industrialized street food vendor in my Nature city, so you can definitely have an industrialized (or at least steampunk) one in Lightning. The picture you painted is a bleak one, though...

ancient rome had fast food chains, so there's no reason even pre-electricity areas should be barred from having them. what i'm saying is there's a mcbogsneaks built into a mushroom hut in the middle of the abiding boneyard and it runs on stone age level tech.

Fast food chains in Lightning just serve soylent products. In a warehouse somewhere there are rows and rows of cauldrons with some alchemist supervisors. Random weeds and insects go in one row and goo is removed, only to be tossed into the next row of cauldrons to make different soylent types. These are running 24/7 and just get delivered to the shops in bulk. The only thing the shop does before serving is chill or heat the order.

Fast food and street food basically make sense in any city with foot traffic. Agreed that Lightning seems to lend itself to such things developing into an actual industry, but that could happen anywhere. Depends how modern the clan is.

I am now imagining that segment of Wall-E where the people in their motorized chairs are getting every meal in a slushie cup, because maximum efficiency I suppose.

Conclusion: Lightning invented the Slurpee machine and is well on its way to making slushies of every major food group.
