so, theres gembond, i've seen alot of people not like it at all. personally im neutral on it
what if gembond was more colorfull? basiclly pulling more color form the tert color. i'd use it more probably.
i've heard people like it more on skydancer? i can kinda see why, more uniform. ofcorse gembond is supposed to be an infection or something, right? so it doesn't make to much sense for it to be uniform.

There's just a bit too much going on with it, mainly around the chest. If there were just a couple less gems I'd probably like it more.
Whether a gene’s appearance ‘makes sense’ with its lore is completely irrelevant (I mean, Capsule? Firefly?). I care about whether it looks good on my dragons.
And Gembond is kind of just a gem-pustule mass on everything except Coatls and Skydancers. Keel has the same issue.

Ah, I don't mind it I guess? I kind of have the same problem with it that I have with firefly, spines and filigree: it has lines / linebreaks, so it looks weird with skins and accents, and even some apparel.

I agree. Depending on the breed, gembond can look cluttered. I think I only have 3 dragons with gembond and they’re all related. My favorite actually became my fire rep, as her gembond’s color worked nice with her theme. Gembond can look good sometimes...

Gembond can look nice! It's a good idea that is executed well on some breeds. One of the things I'm not fond about with the design on some breeds is how clunky some of the gem pieces look. XD
I especially dislike Gembond on the breed poses that have huge oddly placed chunks on the wing membrane. Poor Mirror F and Imperial F. :'D
but the breeds with newer art have thankfully avoided this, and the Gembond looks pretty well balanced on them.

I really like it when it has more colors, like in copper, or just for rocky looking dragons. I do wish it was spread a bit nicer at times. Coatls are super lucky, it looks like gems on them, on others it's like "why is this all over their face?!" (same with crackle, it's a bit much on some breeds, like snappers.. like, why is their entire face covered?)
