i don't even know what the best way to make money is. I kinda just avoid buying things and hope that my balance grows.

yep
@ShiningDawn
Leveling and exalting fodder usually pays pretty well, especially if you breed the fodder yourself. Plus selling coli loot adds up fairly quickly.

For me dragon capitalism isn't hard, it's just time-consuming lol.
Can I train 30 dragons in an hour and make ~120kT? Yes.
Could I spend the rest of the afternoon doing that? I could...
Do I feel like doing that? Not really :')

Glimmer and Gloom in the Fairgrounds - once you learn the system (there are guides), you can max the 75k limit in about 20 minutes a day.
Other than that, getting a Level 25 trainer and using one of the 2-fodder guides to train & exalt is the unlimited treasure push.
There's a lot of different approaches to that, because it gets boring. So you have to decide: Which venue do you not mind looking at a lot; do you want the faster training of 2-fodder, or the more stable builds where 2 L25s train 1? (How frustrated do you get having to reload to start over?) And do you just want to train & exalt, or do you want a team or team that can easily move around to grind for festival currency as well?
...and so on. Lots of options, which is why the guides can get confusing. Fortunately, after you have 1 L25 dragon (or a borrowed one), it all gets easier and it's just a matter of whether you get bored with coli farming. And a good guide will let you level up a trio in a weekend, if you're dedicated about it.
