These are some simple questions that are for some science and theories as well as information that people can use in the suggestions forum instead of making an educated guess that might be way off.

For the most part I just go for what's pretty, but because I'm a Gen1 hoarder, I usually end up with XYZs because they're cheapest.

Totally depends on the dragon in question. Often, if a dragon has earth eyes, it may depend on whether it has unusual/rare instead of other types- but if I like the colors enough I might get it anyway.

I only breed a couple pairs that I've had for a long time. (Triple midnight coatls, my progens, one random pair of gen1s where one was bred when I got him so I figured I'd keep going.) I'm not aiming for anything specific with them, I just toss em on AH for around 20kt depending on how they end up looking. I do hope for primals on the midnight pair, they've given me two in the past and I've kept both but I'd love to see how much someone would buy one for lol

Honestly, I'll collect just about anything. I have a TON of gen1s born on my birthday/holidays, a few with neat IDs, and one non-gen1 whose ID is a few off from my Lair ID, among many others.

Buying a dragon perfect as-is is a rare occurrence for me considering what my lair is mostly comprised of.

I'll exalt the dragons I breed if they stick around my lair long enough, and when I'm in the mood I might buy a couple fodder dergs to exalt, but I'm not huge on it because I'm a lazy grinder.

>yeah, eye color makes or breaks a dragon. usually just the color, but sometimes the type/tint matters (like with plague rare or arcane rare) and if eye color stands out too much I won't usually buy the dragon. Or they get covered up, like my current avi dragon.

>Not really. Projects are a P A I N and very expensive. the only projects I like to do are breeding projects since they're more of a passive thing

i exclusively buy XYZ, i find them more interesting to look at than doubles or triples.

it doesn't affect whether or not i'd buy the dragon! there's always eye covering apparel, or i can just make the dragon an sd or similar breeds. :D

i don't breed my permas, but i do have breeding pairs set aside! i guess i breed for special eye types, since everything that has normal eyes goes in the fodder pile unless someone specifically asks me for them

I have a scatter project, and plenty of gene projects! sadly i am a g1 lair so it's just my life >> I don't find them frustrating, its actually quite fun :D

g1s, baby! other than that i don't really collect anything, i do have a few special date dragons and such but i don't keep them specifically because of it, i have other reasons

well, as a g1 lair, triple basic is preferred :D lower price, and i get to decide what i want! customization over breeding for me, but again i just like g1s so

i exalt fodder regularly! my fodder pairs are (mostly) one of the 4 plentiful breeds, so they can nest faster! my fodder pairs are mostly xyy, but that's not for any specific reason other than it's the cool looking dragons i happened to end up with! i also sometimes grab 2 random ready to breed dragons off the AH and put them together to make hideous xyz monsters

price, mostly! aesthetic too of course, since i like my lair to be somewhat organized, but i think it's kinda a given that i wouldn't buy a dragon i didn't think was pretty! g1s with specific colors are pretty rare so things like lair space, name, breeder, etc don't really put me off since i'll likely never find the same looking dragon again

Matching eye colors are nice. Eye types don't matter unless it's a multi-gaze or certain primals. I'm not a big fan of them.

XYZ! Tends to look a lot better than matching color dragons, although sometimes an XXY or whatnot has their uses.

Nah. I know I should since I collect fandragons, but unless the characters' eye color is really specific I don't really care. Whatever looks good. It can be very hard to find a good dragon if you include the eye colors.

No breeding! My lair theme won't allow it. It's weird to breed the poor fandragons.

Oh heck no. It's pricy, it's a pain, I would rather not do it. Sometimes I have to just to get that perfect dragon or at least one that would work, so...goodbye money.

Fandragons, yes. The whole lair is fandragons. Apart from that, nope- I don't even entirely understand what the deal is with gen1s (pricy! steals money! i like money!)

I prefer buying my dragons just as they are or with the fewest amount of changes needed. The less I need to fix, the better!

Nope. My coliseum team is strange because we can't gain experience in any level below 20, yet we're too weak to actually take the enemies in Boreal Wood. I don't really deal in fodder except maybe flipping during big pushes.

Space, of course! Sometimes they just don't work for my lair or need too many changes. Sometimes they're too expensive. Sometimes they're the wrong breed and I don't want to bother scrolling them to a new one.

PLEASE BREED MORE XYX. There's so many things I can't find on the AH and I need some of those stranger color ranges!! I don't care if it's ugly or not, I just want some of those ranges to be filled out so I can actually purchase some of these fandragons.

i generally only buy XYZ. i believe i may have one or two doubles/triples in my lair but they're mostly dragons i got as a new player - nowadays the appeal to me has diminished. i find it interesting to try and make colors work in an XYZ scheme.

i don't generally notice eye color when buying a dragon. i will admit that if i have plans to breed change into a spiral certain eye colors can be off-putting but i don't think i've ever passed on a dragon because of it!

i breed fodder dragons if any at all! i'm one of those that prefers an empty offspring list and while it doesn't really matter that much to me, the dragon market is so oversaturated as it is that i just don't really breed out of principle.

i'm a sucker for a good gene project! before the introduction of the hibden it was a little more frustrating because projects would need to sit in my lair for eons but now i can just shove them in the hibden while i wait on funds. it's pretty fun to complete them!

i'm a mostly g1 lair. :) i will say that i have quite a few sentimental dragons as well - mostly imps that i got years ago that i can't bring myself to part with. other than that i haven't really bought anything other than g1s in a very long time.

since i am a primarily g1 lair i buy most of my dragons triple basic. that being said i have bought a few a couple g1s that were already gened - just kind of depends on what i'm in the mood for!

i don't breed fodder quite as much anymore but when i did i would generally just buy random RTB fodder and put them on a nest. since they would get exalted anyways it just made sense to do it that way.

i would say the amount of current projects i have prevents me from buying dragons. once i finish a certain number of gene projects i'll treat myself to a new dragon but since i mostly buy g1s....well, it's always a never-ending cycle of projects.

nah, fodder is fodder! i don't think it matters at all. especially since it's mutually beneficial.

I'd say XYY or XYX. I really like a limited colour pallet with my dragons. But I don't actually mind XYZ as long as it's vaguely matchy!

Yes. Eye type being different is enough to turn me away from buying a dragon. I don't mind tints too much, though.

I love projects. I'd love to do a scatter project, if some day I have money. I feel like scatters test your creativity for coming up with a look with whatever colours you get! I don't like eye projects (because it is so unbelievably difficult to breed for, I feel it's a waste of time.) I have a gene project going on currently to turn a G1 into a glow-worm! He feels special to me because I hatched him!

I do like the idea of special date dragons, for Valentines, Halloween, Christmas or birthdays. But otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to collect dragons.

I do like to buy dragons as they are! But usually, I'll be seeking out a specific dragon, so I'll grab whatever has the right colours and then gene them myself. Customisation is better than breeding for me.

I breed my fodder! I feel like buying to exalt is cruel (but that's just my brain having empathy for pixels :P) so let's do something totally not as cruel: BIRTH CHILDREN TO SACRIFICE TO MATHER.

I breed whatever's cheapest- I pick up a pair of whatever has the lowest breed cooldown and price.

A bit of lairspace, aesthetic, eye type, AND breed. I don't mind prices, since I'm happy to work hard for any dragon I set my sights on. Basically: If I want it, I'm having it! I hope!

The only ones I avoid breeding are due to lore, and I even breed some lore dragons and just consider the hatchlings as null. I generally just throw a couple together and see if they'd have pretty kids which = sure why not let's breed em. I do have a few breeding projects too though. I've had.. very little success though. They are very frustrating though, either due to my generally mediocre luck or lack of funds. Sentimental all the way, not even a light sprite could pry some of my dearest dragons out of my hands. Old dragons are unfortunately too expensive for me, and I've only played for a little over 4 years. I have a few G1s too! They're fun to hatch on special days. I try to appreciate all breeds, but I am more picky when it comes to some dragons. Price ofc, I generally just buy cheap dragons on the ah. I only go for expensive ones if a project desperately needs them. I mostly buy XYZ dragons, and the next would probably be XYX! I often find doubles and triples, especially ones without genes that give accent colors, to be pretty boring, so it's kind of rare that I'll find one interesting enough to buy.

I do prefer dragons with matching eye colors, although most of the time, clashing eye colors don't bother me that much. I would usually buy a dragon even if their eyes didn't match.

I breed my dragons somewhat often. I don't care about offspring lists, so I sometimes breed my perma dragons, like my progens. I also have a couple of breeding pairs. I usually breed for fodder, although I sometimes do breeding projects for certain dragons that I want.

I do like projects, although I get impatient and frustrated sometimes. I'm not really a fan of breeding projects because they usually go really slowly, but I always want the end result enough that I'm willing to go through with it. I've never done a scatter project or eye project, but I do gene projects pretty often.

I collect a lot of G1s, but that's mostly because I like creating my own, usually pretty unique dragon. It often doesn't feel as genuine to me if I buy a dragon off the AH, since it usually has similar siblings and isn't something I worked on.

I generally prefer buying dragons with potential and then customizing them, but if a dragon is pretty much exactly what I want already, I'll buy it too.

I exalt fodder a lot since I like getting money and I like participating in dominance activities. I buy a lot of my fodder, but I do breed fodder sometimes as well. I often use breeding project fails as fodder. I tend to breed XYZ dragons and try to sell them in case they're what people need for breeding projects, and if they don't sell after a while, I either train and exalt them or store them in my hibden until they have a daily bonus or my flight is doing a push.

Price is often a big thing since I usually won't pay hundreds of gems for a single dragon. I also try not to buy too many permas since I don't want to run out of space. Aesthetic is also a big thing because I wouldn't keeo a dragon that I don't like. If I'm just buying dragons for fodder, I just want them to be fed.

I definitely don't think it's a waste. Often, even the ugliest XYZ fodder dragon could be someone's dream dragon, or the dragon they need for a breeding project. One of my fandragons was a random fodder-price hatchling that someone decided to sell one day. It can be really frustrating to try to get dragons with the right colors, and I love when people's fodder happens to be exactly what I need.
