i've been away from fr for the last year or two but i'm hoping to stick around for a while and i have a question about dominance!
i remember a few years ago, there was a huge dom fight (don't remember which flights) where dragons on the AH got up to like 7-9kt for fodder and everyone was really into it. it was super fun and chaotic. does stuff like that still happen? is there a schedule where we can see when the really big dom fights will happen?

Watch that post.
ETA: But not all Dom pushes result in bizarre fodder prices. I have seen the price go up to fodder at 16 K.

They do happen but less often. You can check the
latest Dom watch (or add yourself to dom watch pinglist) to see all announced pushes.

thank you so much! is there any way of telling if a push will get super competitive or is it just a "wait and see each week" thing?

Using the current announced pushes as an example, you can generally tell when it's a battle (usually when fodder goes above 8kt) and when it's just two flights profit pushing. We usually have 1-2 of these a year.
- Aug 1 - 7: Earth (Conquest), Water (Conquest)
Both of these flights are conquesting the same week, and it's been on dom watch for a while now, meaning it's a planned battle, so there will likely be public buys and/or oof raffles along with more in-flight/all-flight events.
If only one flight is conquesting, it's usually accompanied with a public buy, and fodder will likely be around 7kt. If few of these (and/or festival pushes) are in a row, fodder price sometimes pushes a bit higher.
Profit pushes and in-flight conquests are usually not interesting to flights not participating, but can offer some OOF events.
