So I just came back from a mildly long hiatus and I'm trying to get back into exalting. Normally when I buy a fodder dragon I train it up to level 6 and wait around a day before exalting just in case its owner is against their dragon being exalted. I wanted to know if I should bother doing this or is it generally okay since most people are aware of fodder dragon prices

If the dragon seems to be more valuable, it might have been mispriced and missed a 0. But if anyone puts their dragon up for 6000t, they should expect the dragon to be exalted. It doesn't matter anyway, once you buy a dragon it's your own decision.
Most would immediately message if there was a mistake in pricing, so if you don't get anything in the 8 minutes or so leveling it, you're good. Just exalt them right after getting them to 6.
Fodder sells fast, most of the ones you'll buy off the AH were listed only a few minutes prior. So the seller will usually still be online, and will probably PM you immediately if it was a mistake. Best to just exalt it
If someone is selling anything between 5-7kt they should be prepared for their baby to turn into fodder once grown and levelled.
If you are a fast leveler, I'd say just exalt it ^^ I'm usually a turtle though when it comes to levelling so if someone was interested in the baby could buy it from me at fodder price plus levels, or if it was a mistake on the original seller and they ask politely I'd be inclined in selling the baby back too! :)

I have a description in my exalt tab stating the dragons will be exalted, etc. I also always name the dragon before sending them off, with the random name generator. I usually wait to exalt during big dom pushes, but that’s just my personal preference. You aren’t obligated to do anything before exalting a dragon, as you are the current owner and can do whatever you want.

You can double check to see if they could be valuable to someone ( Bio, Art, Lore, G1, Lower digit, etc maybe. ), but most of the time they would simply be fodder. There may be a few people who are not aware of fodder dragons, but it should be alright to exalt. It may help some people learn what to do next time.
