Flight Rising Discussion

There will be lots of excited post and so don’t drag on their excitement, if you are like me and not happy about the eye update you are welcome to vent here.

My vent,
Have spent 10’s of thousands of gems on a fun primal hatching quest. It did allow a special case of surprises with hatching and something to work for. Now it’s oh well I could have just bought the vial for less than 1000g. The price of primal especially gen 1 primals went bye bye. And just not happy.

(the Vial of Elemental Sight costs 500k t, not 1000. just a slight correction.)

before this turns into a locked thread, i just wanna say that you couldn't have predicted vials being released. nobody knew except staff. don't beat yourself up for not having foresight and all that. it DOES suck that you spent so much money only for it to be undermined later, but it's not as if staff is trying to say frick you specifically.

as someone who's never been heavily invested in eye types (my dragons were fine before and they haven't stopped being fine since), i think this change is on the whole good, but it came out waaaayy too late. this should have been pushed out in the month after eye types first released to prevent this particular situation from happening.

Same! Primal eye vials are only 500,000 treasure! Say goodbye to the thrill of hatching one because anybody can go and give their dragon primal for less than some breed changes.

I'm sitting on a bunch of Scattersights that were going to fund my first Sprite purchase. Useless now.

Editing to say I think it's kind of nasty of the staff to take such a firm stance on the eye system not changing and going back on it. Are Sprites going to hit the treasure marketplace to...? People worked to get / buy scattersights, and for what?

[/quote] 100% agree. They fixed their mistake, yes, but VERY late. We can't turn back time, so we have to accept it. There's no reason to harp on "it should have been earlier!!1!" because yes that is true but unless you have a time machine there's nothing we can do about it.

I like economy on sites like this, but the eye economy was ridiculous and needed change. FR was never going to be the site that would made things unavailable forever.

Are they going to put Sprites in the treasure marketplace next? Doesn't seem Fair that some people will never get to complete their bestiaries....

I honestly was excited to see new eyes! They're just not the best, though.

[/quote] By this logic scattersights are also coming back etc. Some specific items are not available anymore (kickstarter items, retired items like scatter sights or sprites) but game mechanics are not things that staff generally want to lock players out of. THe problem with the eyes was that many people had old dragons that would never get to participate in new eyes and the players themselves were upset about it since the implementation of the system. Flight rising (for all the crap that players give staff) is generally really really good at listening to the player base and responding. Having retired items isnt a problem but having a one time use retired item that is the only way to access a game mechanic for many dragons is a problem.
