My dragons' names are more on the literal side, what about you guyz?
My dragon names (That I named myself) have names that don't really make sense because I just based em off of vibes

Older dragons have names based on vibes, but now I try to take historical name meanings into account. Sometimes it's still just because the name sounds nice but other times there's meaning behind it.
My avatar dragon's name is Chrysanthe, which is derived from greek Chrysanthos or alternatively, Chrysanthemum., both meaning golden flower.
My veilspun breeding pair and all their kids are named after nicer sounding moth genus.
Flower/tree names are extremely literal.
Senka has to do with shadows/darkness, Rowan means red, and Rai was intended to relate to wind (it means storm, better for a lightning primal lol)

mine are mainly random words or random combinations of sounds I thought were nice.
I used to try to name them after musical things but then I nearly named a Noc Nocturne and had to stop
though my male progen is called Greenie

Most of my dragon's names don't have much to do with their physical appearances, but I do have a handful that are fairly literal (eg. Sunscream, my progen, who got the first part of his name from his very sunny colours).
And then there's...

...for which the random name generator is entirely to blame.

i see your literals and raise you...anyway, I pretty much name based on vibes or random thoughts so there is no consistency whatsoever
My regular dragons are usually just named with fantasy-sounding names I made up by slamming random letters together until it sounded cool. I have a decent amount that are just regular names (Penny, Caelum) or mythology related (Styx, Hestia) or stars (Aldebaran, Enif) or Literally Just Normal Words (Fallen, Velvet, Bones, Starlight, Galaxy) though.
revstar fandragons obviously have human names since they're all human characters, and then some of my other fandragons have fantasy-sounding names too since that's just what their names are to begin with.

My username is W1F1N1GHTM4R3, there are no vowels (only numbers), so if you don't think you can spell it properly, just copy+paste it please!
