TOPIC | For Gen 1 players
How expensive have you found your tastes to be when geneing a dragon?
I've found that at most times I am either satisfied with all treasure genes or at most need 1 gem gene.
The highest I've gone is 3 gem genes.

I'm a sucker for Wildclaws so I'm already having to dish out tons of cash based by that haha.
My most preferred genes are python/Morph & slime/sludge though so gene-wise it's usually a bit cheaper but overall...overall my tastes are sadly a bit expensive lmao

They usually get at least one gem gene. My tastes have actually gotten a hair cheaper though with some really awesome treasure or baldwin combinations.

I've got a couple Wildclaws with three gem genes, but I've also got a big bunch of dragons with only treasure genes. I think the average is 0-1 gem genes per G1 in my lair :D

I'm usually almost always satisfied with Baldwin or treasure genes! A few of my G1s have gem genes, but definitely not many. Out of the nineteen permas I currently own, only four of them have gem genes. One of which, has two gem genes, another has three.

To date I’ve only bought three gem genes, including breed changes. I’m usually very happy with what the treasure marketplace or Baldwin can provide. The most I have ever invested into one dragon is a Wildclaw scroll and a Bee gene for Cainyves here:

Aside from them, I have only ever bought a veilspun scroll: I bought this guy with his glimmer already applied.

@Tune
Interesting. I find that I focus more on the genes and then "which breeds wears it better?" which in my case have been Skydancers which are pretty expensive treasure wise. So far I've genes at least 6+ Skydancers including some Gen 2s
@Skychickens
True that. My particular guilty pleasure tend to be Swirl/Marbled genes as they tend to be my to go too unless scrying for a specific idea.
@Denryu
Fascinating. I too find that at most 1 gem gene per breed to even a project only having a coatl gene and all treasure genes.

@BrokenLegacy
Pretty dragons. Love Aeolous from the batch!
@Kyr
I feel ya. My recent projects were hatches for Beltane and a lot of treasure went to them particularly one with the eye update.

I thought I had a bunch of dragons without gem genes but turns out almost all of my dragons have exactly one. What can I say, I like bee and stained just a little too much.
