AC (After Conceding*): ...me. That's who. In fact, I've spent/seriously considered spending far more than that. Help. Oh, yeah, and now I own 10 correction: 11, which is small beans compared to some of you UMA hoarders out there, but it's quite a lot for me as someone who only makes money through selling chests (although that's kind of gone as a source of income because I've awakened pretty much all of my familiars)/ occasional good flip and coli drop.

So, what are your thoughts on UMAs? Do you buy them? If so, do you only buy them if you have a dragon in mind, or are you like me and buy them impulsively if they're super pretty?

I tend to only buy them if I already have the dragon and fest accents just won't cut it. Atm, most of those with a uma are fandragons but I have a non-fandragon with a uma and 1 uma awaiting a non-fandragon since I decided not to keep the original dragon it was for.

If I wasn't so broke though, I'd totally consider getting more umas because a lot of them look really cool. The only ones I won't buy- not matter how amazing they look- are full coverage skins and skincents/accents that cover like the entire secondary or the entire primary/ 90% of either of those areas.
Look I want to see the dragon beneath and I'm not keeping ugly dragons even with a skin hiding them. This includes all parts of the dragon. I'm fine with accents that create a fake belly but that means I can't let the dragon have a belly gene. Just how I am I guess.

Sometimes I do just like to stare at some though and wish I was impulsive/rich enough to buy them or that I wasn't so picky about their coverage because there's some really great umas out there.

I have a collection of supper pretty ones. I put some of them on dragons, but I can have more skins and accents than dragons and they don't eat food. So yeah, most aren't on dragons but that does not mean I love them any less.

When I first heard about FR before joining and some time when I was really new, I was totally BC. ONLY because I had a misconception about UMAs/skincents in general.

I thought that skins were just the fullbody ones, and I think might have been because I had friends into FR in the early years when they were more common than just accents. But after I realized that most UMAs are largely accents that don't cover the entire body, I'm much more into them.

I do generally buy accents just because I like them, and then work towards finding a gen 1 that will fit with them lol

There are so many beautiful UMAs out there, and I'm too broke to buy any of them. It makes sense for them to be so expensive, though. From the devs' perspective, making the price for blueprints so high will both sell more gems, and make sure that potential UMA artists are seriously committed, which helps with quality control.

...But it still stings to see all this gorgeous art and not be able to buy it.

I don’t buy full-body skins, but I do buy accents and some skincents. It helps that I try to keep my buying habits limited within my aesthetic, but unfortunately a lot of the older food/dessert UMAs are few and hard to find, so I have spent more than I’d like trying to complete my wishlist.

I usually have a dragon or dragon idea in mind before buying, but some of the newer releases I impulse just because they look fun to design a character around at a later date.

Overall it’s a lot of scoping out the AH and forums daily hoping for a miracle when it comes to older UMAs.
