know my luck is bad and have gene costs that outweigh getting a new project, so dunk it on the AH.

Once you learn the joys of shopping for fodder G1s.. you wont hatch an egg again. Also, I like oldies, so hatching has no appeal.

The impulse to potentially get something really good for basically free is so immense that I can't help myself sometimes. Only viable solution is to never get lucky enough to get an egg.

You just need to want the gems more than you want to hatch a dragon you almost certainly won't want to keep.

list them on the AH now, after a while you start seeing eggs as a free 300 gems rather than an openable item.
Make sure you sell a gem below LAH too to get it outta your pockets quickly if you think you'll open it.
