this of course, only applies to those of us with fandragons!
is it just a "theyre a dragon in this au, always have been" scenario, a "they got transported to sornieth and turning into a dragon" scenario (which is what im going with for my fandragons), or something else completely?
:D would love to hear how you build fan dragons into your lore, if you do! and also how you deal with multiple fandoms all in one lair

I only have one I'm making so far but it's an AU situation! Where he's always been a dragon, but has a similar backstory to his original story.

In my lore they were normal dragons who either created portals to different dimensions or were forced to leave Sornieth. As they travelled through different worlds, they picked up their names and experiences along the way.
Now that they have returned to Sornieth, they live far away from the main clan, in a secluded spot deep within the Hewn City. Some say they are still creating portals today and experimenting with their unique powers.

They’re kinda just there.
I don’t really consider them to be the character’s they’re based on, more like tributes to those characters. They don’t exist in my “canon” lore, though.
yet I still keep buying more instead of expanding my own lore

Born dragon, raised dragon! I don't like my fandragons to exist in a void, so I give them a place in lore as background characters.
When it comes to multiple fandoms, I try my best to figure out how they'd get along, usually by comparing and contrasting a character from the same universe that they've met to a character they haven't.
It's fun to think of how the backstory works because all fandom is different, but some are easier to work with than others!
I have only one dragon where it's a "They got transported" and it involves accidental universe splitting and the 'accidental' summoning of various nuisances called friends.
Mine are less actual AU versions and more like avatars to show them off if that makes sense lol

They're basically just dragon characters inspired by the characters they're based on, if I bother incorporating them at all.

oh absolutely "they got transported to sornieth and turning into a dragon"! followed swiftly by "oops they're the main characters." [emoji=ridgeback laughing size=1]
the "they've always been a dragon" fanderg take has just never struck my fancy, i much prefer the drama and chaos that comes from beings Not From Sornieth stumbling into the mix and trying to figure out what the heck is going on. [s]possibly because i do this with fanfics in general anyway.[/s] i'll leave the being a dragon to the regular dragons, haha.
