If there was no Plague Flight, I would have joined Nature or Shadow. I really like fantasy forests of both the Sylvan Glade and Haunted Woods variety.

Lightning was my second choice when I first signed up, but nowadays I'm thinking Light for the knowledge-seeker lore

I'm gonna end the fire trend and say Ice. I'm a big fan of their region and character (with them liking preservations of their past and whatnot).

It seems like I’m with everyone else in saying Fire! I’m a little surprised I went with Arcane since Fire is normally an easy pick for me, but when I was considering my future dragons I felt like Arcane was more generic and I would have weird feelings about having dragons that didn’t look fiery in a Fire lair. That’s really just a weird thing in my head.

Back when I started, I was deciding between Shadow and Arcane, so if Arcane didn't exist I probably would have picked Shadow. Back then, I was deciding between my teenage dark-and-edgy side and my newfound like of pink and amusement at dragons unknowingly (and uncaringly) breaking the universe. I'm not sure I would have stayed there, though - I really disliked Shadow eyes when I first started.
If I joined the site today, though, and Arcane wasn't an option, I'd probably pick Water. I like stories about prophesies, and in general Water is mysterious and a bit dark. They have Ice's prison vibe without being overt about it (since non-Water dragons are reliant on Water dragons to survive there).
The only thing stopping me would be my general aversion to choosing the Main Character Faction, and with Tidelord gone Water kinda feels that way. Although I joined Arcane despite the Arcanist being the most prominent character of the lorebook at the time, so maybe that wouldn't factor in.

Seems like great minds think alike because I would head on down to Plague or Nature, as well. I feel Shadow, my current flight, is that perfect in-between: having both the sinister edge I love and the whimsical, woodsy sense of Nature.
