Flight Rising Discussion

I'm curious because I've seen people theorizing the possibility of a new deity at the end of this whole shebang. While I think it would be very cool, I don't think it's a possibility for several reasons:
1-a new deity would mean a new flight which would mean a LOT of new things that there isn't really space for on any of the maps or entries. How would said flight be populated? Would they give out an extra free flight change to people?
2-if there was no flight that went along with the deity, what would the deity even be of? The shade and all that sounds neat but wouldn't really fit in very well with lore. We have pretty much everything covered, so I don't know what it would be. Especially since the lore of DD involves Earthshaker and Tidelord, so whatever deity would be created would likely involve them. So what relates to the two that we don't already have a representation of?
3-I'm pretty sure it's been stated that what we have is what we've got in terms of flights/deities. Or maybe it was just flights, not sure.

With all that in mind, if you were the admins and wanted to add in a flight and deity, how would you do it? If the reveal was that, how would that work? How would all the issues presented be addressed? Because it's certainly not impossible, and it's fun to think about lmao

Still a cool theory though, but would never actually happen.

Honestly, I guess I'd change NotN to some form of fest. I guess that would be the best was to go about that. I'd probably have some form of island off the coast of Sornieth for the new region,

I think the only real way a new deity would even be able to work is if it either didn't have its own flight, or it was strictly an NPC flight that players could not join. We don't have room in our schedule for another festival (unless NotN was done away with/changed to have to do with the new deity somehow) and I don't think it's very likely any way I look at it, really.

more than that, the deities were deliberately created before any other account on the website and their ID numbers reflect as much, so a new deity dragon would probably be out of the picture unless they made up lore that it was born literally now instead of being ancient like the others

I like the idea of a newborn diety. Or maybe a demi-god? A new diety doesn't mean a new flight has to be born... what if they are a beastclan specific one?

Personally, I'd go with Young God, and instead of 5 days as a baby that can't fight and be adult, they'll need centuries to grow their powers. an island would be a neat addition, OR they could have a subterranean realm, like Hades. On that note a god of DEATH would be pretty metal, ha ha ha... Maybe their realm is where Exalts have to travel through or something! :3

...the one thing that I think does say that this could happen eventually is that account 12 is completely dead, apparently just a test account. #17 is the first player account, and I think the OG staff have accounts in there too.

#12 could totally be a placeholder for a future deity. Saw a pretty cool theory on the interwebs (I believe Llanai was the poster?) about the Shade actually being the remnants of a twelfth deity who was themed around the void.

Now, do I think this is actually gonna happen? No, not really. But it COULD.

I don't think they could have a fest that other dragons could participate in because they've lived isolated for so long, so they wouldn't be comfortable sharing it with outsiders. That would solve the calendar issue because instead of making an event, staff could just give everyone a galore gift every year. Alternatively, they could use a different calendar system from the rest of sornieth, and therefore their holiday moves around every year and is just squeezed in wherever it fits from time to time. When it happens everyone just gets free gifts and skins cycle into the marketplace for a while. If it has to have a permanent place it could be in December, because players aren't going to be spending a lot of money or grinding hours. It's be like a reward/break from the rush of holiday capitalism.

"But won't players get mad if they don't get a festival?" I like the idea of there being flights we can't join, actually. I think Sornieth having more closed off/non-player societies that we aren't privy too makes the world feel bigger and the lore more detailed. I don't wanna have a beast clan flight, I don't wanna be able to canonically join the shade, and I like having societies that players can't join. I'm from a closed religion irl so for me this actually feels very validating and realistic. Plus adding all the interactive stuff for a new flight would be a MASSIVE undertaking, and I'd rather have literally anything else.

Their portion of the map would be completely underground! So it'd be part of the underground map update, and would go under shadow/nature/earth/and a bit of plague. You'd see underground cities and rivers carved directly into the rock and lighter bits would mark new entrances.

Someone mentioned there being an unused test account, so the new deity could use that. We could have new NPCs and a new breed at some point that are from that flight so that it has a presence. (maybe one that lets you cook? or lets you garden daily?) And I'd love it if that deity was randomly active in the forums, but I'd love that for any deity tbh
