Okay, so, for research purposes I'm wondering if there are certain breeds that people get art for more often, or certain types of dragons (serious, silly, just pretty) people feel more inclined to commission artists for? Or do you dislike getting art for dragons entirely?

I get that this probably is completely subjective, but perhaps there's a pattern I'm missing?


I think I'd pretty much get art only for my lore & meme dragons, no matter the breed. But I'm hesitant to get it for unfinished ones, just in case I change my mind about their outfits and such.

@Hyzenthlaay absolutely amazing.. "I love Ballpit Vomit" is not something I expected to say in my life.

Most of my arted dragons are ones that got art from a random-draw thread, or else I gave somebody a selection of several dragons to chose from and let them draw the one they liked the best. Being surprised is more fun for me, if I want art of a particular dragon for whatever reason I can draw it myself. XD

That said, the ones I tend to favor for getting art are the lore dragons, with no special attention paid to breed.

Oh also, cute & joke/meme art tends to be very popular, I see it very often in bios. So it could be a mix of people only getting that type of art for that type of dragon and it just being generally popular/"easier" to make. (easier in quotation marks because it's subjective to each and every artist, what may be easy for me could be really difficult for someone else and vice versa after all)

I never got art of my dragons before, but from what I see on the art threads people seem to commission more art of coatls, wildclaws and imps.

I usally commission art of my wildclaws. but a lot of my non wildclaws have art to. so i guess whatever dragon i feel like getting art for. same when it comes to drawing my own art. though lately it's just been going toward whoever needs some art, which is starting to be pretty much everyone because i've been slacking.

I think Gamma, my avatar derg, has the most art with 5 pics, just cause he's been pretty much my main derg for awhile now.

second would be Orrin with 3 pics, and that's mainly because he's my little ghost oc so he's super easy to doodle

I have only had someone else draw one of my dragons, it was of this wildclaw. One was for my profile dragon. The art is in my signature and her bio (sig art leads to her page).
